Here's Confuse's Contempt For The Authority, And Take Off The Lie + 3 Tracks CD I recently acquired. It contains the Contempt For The Authority, And Take Off The Lie EP from '85 and three tracks that originally appeared on the Jisatsu Omnibus comp. It's short (14:23) and it was crazy expensive (about $30 after shipping costs) but I am a collecting nerd and this actually has a lyric sheet which is pure Engrish poetry and makes it worth any price. Confuse frontman, Dis, was like a noise punk Matsuo Basho penning such gold as the lyrics to "Fuckin' Lovers":

Indignation

Confuse's first full-length, Indignation, originally appeared on the Japanese scene as a cassette in 1984. Though this was their debut release, the band's earliest recordings from 1983 weren't released until 1987 as the Spending Loud Night EP. If you haven't been paying attention, Confuse were the absolute kings of crazy fuzzy Japanoise punk. Taking the groundwork laid out by Disorder and Chaos UK and tweaking it into abrasive white hiss, Confuse (and their buddies Gai) set the tone for what would be the Japanese noisecore aesthetic. Okay! Fuck! Die! Star of FIVES!!!

Ain't No Party Like a Violent Party

Violent Party was the in-house label of Japanese noisecore legends Gai. This compilation features the rough-shod talents of Gai, as well as Gedon, No Cut, Confuse, Craps, and Gess. It's a great primer in the noisier side of Japan's flourishing punk scene of the '80s. This party is a bit violent, especially in the kitchen where Confuse is hanging out , but for the most part it's a fun party, a really noisy and really fun party. You're invited.
