In the phase of making I was most satisfied myself with "Gold Dust" as it just appeared to born so easily, approx. 3 hours and the tune was ready.. Especially after 2:35 (when it actually gets going) is what I like the most. Maybe the song stretched too much. Never did such a long tune before.. (except ATA title song).
But I've noticed that many times it's like your latest is the one you like the most yourself.. In this case it's "Bisquit".. | User Comment Submitted by GT on 17 October 2010
Aviator tune is my favourite composition. Though I'd program the sounds a bit fatter for more aurial stimulation. Very nice clean screen and stylish logo by the way.
@Stainless. I also reacted on the first chord in the chorus in Maniac (not comparing it to the original). | User Comment Submitted by Sledge on 14 October 2010
The design reminds me of the old Reformation times, which is so good. The music was even better! Thumbs up!
*edit* Shit, some of the tunes are really good... | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 9 October 2010

| Sweet as candy! Totally what I like to listen to a day like this :) Nice mel/chr/bas/drm, that gives an oldschoolish feeling =) Keep it up. | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 8 October 2010 User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 7 October 2010
| thanks, I've updated the entry. | User Comment Submitted by Scorpion on 7 October 2010 User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 7 October 2010
"the second tune, previously with no name but now dubbed 'short pause' was actually released
in the assembly 1995 party invitation demo when i was a member of the sharks."
This means that the entry of Assembly '95 - Final Invitation is incomplete?

| Track 9) Short Pause is really good | User Comment Submitted by Scorpion on 7 October 2010 User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 7 October 2010
Nice collection... Tune 8 is definately very close to my boneless :D
I like the logo! | User Comment Submitted by Scorpion on 7 October 2010
| Tune#8 was never really released (at least I can't remember when/where) even though somehow it found its way out to some production(s). I (re)named it to Shameless because it uses the sounds and the bass/arpeggio background from a Drax tune (Boneless). | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 7 October 2010
Very nice oldschool tunes. I really like the gfx. Could have done without the screen flicker when switching tunes though.
Tune #8, what's that taken from again ? | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 7 October 2010
Now I have listened through the whole collection. Even though I am not normally too keen on "standard" stuff with arpeggios, lead, etc, I found this stuff very pleasing. Somehow soft, and not that hysteric and compo-drunk-punchy-crunchy as most C64 music tends to be in these days. :) Not saying that hectic music cannot be nice too, but this was nice for a change.
I also like the simplicity of the outfit. Simple and effective, but still stylish. | User Comment Submitted by Tao on 7 October 2010
| I love the logo -- Clever Design(s) :P | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 7 October 2010
| Oh man... Even in the first tune of the collection.. ;-) well, the "maniac" tune is only my version of it, with inspired solo-part.. | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 7 October 2010
| LOL i was thinking "damn, this tune reminds me a lot of flashdance". :-D Though, some notes sound wrong in maniac in the background arpeggio. | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 7 October 2010
Plain 8580 just plays it's like meant to be (as in Goattracker).
reSID-fp's seems to cause unnecessary "bleeps" into bass-sound, at least in "Aviator" track, don't ask me why.. (maybe thanks to my weak sound programming skills.. ;-) It's just not there in GT.. Check out yourself..
to make it clear: sid engine:reSID-FP, sid model 8580
(not like 8580R5 1489 etc).. | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 7 October 2010
| Cool! I love the old Artline music collections! Such memories, this looks nice and i'm listening now, very good!! | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 7 October 2010
| Will give it a listen later on. In the meantime I am curious why you say that one should not use resid-fp? Do you mean in contrast to the real thing? (If so, I understand.) ...or do you mean in contrast to some other emulation? (If so, I don't understand.. :) | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 7 October 2010
Here we go again! Hope you all won't get overdosed by new sid music now, thanks to recent X2010.
Use sid model 8580 (no reSID-fp's).
This collection is an effort of hard work, even a new logo was done first time since 1990. Scorpion is back too, with one unreleased tune and one official release.
Once again, it's all for the melodies.. Hope you enjoy! |
