Disturbing?

Here is a Dry Bones cartoon from 2013 on trying to stop a nuclear armed Iran. Sadly, not a lot has changed. It is Thursday, soon to be time for Shabbat, and for making plans for next week, and we don't know what the future holds. It seems that things are changing by the hour these days.

Wishing you health and happiness, peace and prosperity.

The Past and the Future

Dry Bones Golden Oldie, from 2003 posted by Sali. Enjoy.

The News gets crazier every day. It will be interesting to see what the future brings. It seems like a confrontation with Iran is not so far in the future. The world leaders are meeting in Davos, and now Trump is heading there. This all would have been great cartoon material for Yaakov. I miss him, but it gives me pleasure to look through his old cartoons and find something that seems to fit the day. My energy is still low following my fall, but I am getting much better and I am so thankful for everyday of life, and health, and friends and all you fans and followers.

I pray that everyone will have health and happiness and prosperity.

A Positive Attitude

War, economic crisis, Terrorism, Pessimism, Optimism, Bailout, Future, lsw kirschen : Dry Bones cartoon. According to the LSW (Long Suffering Wife) I am wildly and irrationally optimistic about the future, I on the other hand, am constantly trying to pry her out of what she sees as "realism".

After a "philosophical discussion" between the two of us in which I futilely tried to get her to see the current situation with a "positive attitude", I decided to draw this two-guys-talking cartoon.

I hope that she, and others like her, will find this cartoon amusing, if not funny.

Optimism (2004)

(2004) Dry Bones cartoon: Optimism, Passover, Easter, Spring, Future, Shuldig, Doobie,
Today's cartoon is from 2004.

. . . it's one of those cartoons in which Mr. Shuldig explains human behavior to Doobie, his dog, and it comes with my very best wishes for a Happy Easter to all of our Christian friends!

FaceBooked!

Facebook : Dry Bones cartoon.
The speed with which technology is evolving is breathtaking. Those of us who were familiar with record players and typewriters see the rapid change more clearly than most.

And the social changes based on the ever-new technologies is even more radical.

Yesterday I sat in my kitchen in Israel munching breakfast and watching a movie ...on a computer ...from a website that was "streaming" an American TV cable station. The movie was "2001 A Space Odyssey". The LSW (Long Suffering Wife) and I reminisced about when 2001 was in the future.

But I'm the last to complain. Folks younger than my socks are now reading and enjoying Dry Bones cartoons in countries around the world! ...of course many of them are reading the 'toons on their phones!!

And there's the Dry Bones Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com/DryBonesCartoon

Yikes!

Tell Tale Signs

You know you're in the future when... : Dry Bones cartoon.
Back in the Seventies, the post-67 wave of immigrants to Israel from the West were trying to adjust to the realities of life in the country. At that time Dry Bones was the star feature of the Jerusalem Post; the paper they all read. And the most popular Dry Bones cartoons were full pagers with Mr. Shuldig that were entitled "You Know You've Been Here Too Long When..."

Those cartoons wryly tracked the little things that we did which were signs of our having gone native ...like calling a grocery store a makolet when speaking English, or smelling the cottage cheese (don't ask!).

We were strangers in a strange, new, exciting, and bewildering land.

Here in the 21st century many of us feel the same way. Like immigrants to a strange new land called the future. I thought about that when I did today's cartoon. Maybe I should start a series called "You Know You're Living In The Future When..."

Baby Boomers, the Sixties : Dry Bones cartoon.
I am off on a speaking tour in the States until the end of October. I wrote, drew, and posted a set of cartoons to provide you with a daily chuckle while I'm away.

This is one of those cartoons.
