Invading Our Privacy!

Folks are outraged by the loss of "privacy". Our governments, our phones, our compouters, and, of course, all the swell free apps we download to our "devices" ...are all snooping on us and delivering the "data" they collect back to their masters (whoever or whatever that is!)

It Don't Work That Way Anymore!

This blog is run on blogger. A few years ago they changed the way it worked and I became a "Classic Version" holdout

When Microsoft added the dumb ribbon to MS Word, etc. it forced me to relearn how to use my old and trusted tools. facebook? gmail? twitter? Nothing still works the same, which has led me to formulate a rule:

Nothing continues to work the same way once you've learned how it works!!

BTW I recently decided to set up a Dry Bones YouTube "channel." I began with an Internet search for technical info and insider tips on how to do it. Most of what I found were painful posts, pitiful whimpering and cries of anger. Seems like YouTube had just changed the way YouTube "channels" worked.

The Robber Barons of a previous age created great wealth by building the railroads that became indispensable to the era of transportation. The rich and powerful "Robber Barons" of our age built the digital tools that became indispensable to the economy of our era. They are now in a war to divide the pie between them, as we watch.

The cartoon is based on the old science fiction idea. You send someone to the past with information about the future. The stock market, or Kentucky Derby winners, or whatever...

Since the two guys in the cartoon are in 1958 I drew one with a pink shirt (I had several in 1958) and the other with a really wide necktie and high waisted pants. The tie is in fact a copy of one that I owned and treasured back then.
