Cocaine is a Bad Drug, Part I
my new series. While I'm busy gathering materials for my Mickey Rooney Hotel post, feast (or blind) your eyes on this.
One youtuber writes: It sure is good to see young folks like yourself rediscovering great music like this! :) Most people your age are hung up in that grunge crap or Lady Gaga nonsense!

Janko Nilovic goes voodoo
" Janko Nilovic is one of these extremely productive musicians. He was especially hyperactive in 60s and 70s and it is almost impossible to gutter all the information about his recordings. He says that he has recorded at least 150 singles and maybe even twice that figure. He has recorded also under following pseudonymous: ALAN BLACKWELL, EMILIANO ORTI, JOHNY MONTEVIDEO, ANDY LOORE, HEINZ KUBE, BILL MAYER, ENNIO MORANDI, PHILIPPE GRAY, THE TEXAS TRAVELLERS and probably some more. He is still very active and composing in all the styles as he used to (clasical, pop, jazz, funk...). " From Janko Nilovic official webpage.
Now you can listen to 3 Janko's VERY RARE 7' records, under the alias "Voodoo Ju Ju". Thanks to the original "diggers/rippers/uploaders" Dj Alfonso and Christian Aubrun

confessions of an opium eater
"A new projected series of releases on Chinstrap is music & sound-design of interest extracted from public-domain films. Not claiming to be the definitive packaging of the music and sound enclosed, we rather present the work for the possibility of further investigation into the composers and sound-designers featured."
Read more about the project, download the soundtrack and the movie at Chinstrap music.
And now listen to these strange and amazing sounds!
Chinstrap is a not-for-profit music gallery.

The Drug Epidemic
"Murder on the installment plan."
Freddie Gage's assessment of the drug epidemic. Magic Carpet Burn shares this outstanding sermon on the evils of the "kicks" associated with the use of drugs. Complete with Pep Band rally fervor, Texas football references, borscht belt comedy, the inevitable automobile wrecks, Margaret Mead references and a whole lotta montone preaching. It's a blast.

Bloodrock: D.O.A.
More than a car accident - a plane crash song! This stoner classic's from 1971 and produced by the same guy who did Grand Funk - Terry Knight. One of the Bloodrock guys redid it in the 80s and it's on youtube (disabled by request, probably because it's so bad.)
Light up or pop any old ludes in your grandparent's cabinet.
I remember, we were flying low
and hit something in the air

The nun
Jasperina de Jong sings in 1971 about the nun who discovers a whole new way to get in touch with God: smoking marihuana. "Roll another one!"
Other rendition
Jasperina's most famous song overhere is the minute waltz (Chopin)
