The not-for-profit association responsible for the AdChoices and Political Ads self-regualtory programs in Canada.
About us
The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) is an independent, not-for-profit association led by Canada's leading national advertising and marketing associations. We uphold a robust and credible self-regulatory program for responsible online interest-based advertising (IBA) at YourAdChoices.ca and a transparency program for election-based advertising at PoliticalAds.ca. Through our AdChoices program, we empower consumers by providing transparency and control over the targeted advertising they encounter online. The program requires participating companies to clearly communicate their data collection and use practices while offering consumers the ability to manage the types of targeted ads they see. Our mission is to provide consumers with enhanced transparency and control, to establish and enforce responsible privacy practices across the industry for relevant digital advertising, and to build the trust of consumers and other stakeholders in the marketing and advertising industry. Companies interested in joining the program and enhancing consumer trust can register at https://youradchoices.ca/en/business-registration.

Sending a team? Group pricing is available for five or more registrants. Privacy in Digital Media is designed for teams as much as individuals. Shared context means better implementation — when your media planner, account lead, and compliance contact all speak the same privacy language, things actually change. Privacy officers and legal professionals: this course was built for the business side — but it speaks your language. Privacy in Digital Media bridges the gap between legal obligations and how digital advertising actually operates. You'll come away better equipped to brief and challenge your marketing teams, review media plans with confidence, and understand the ad-tech supply chain your legal agreements are supposed to govern. It's also a useful reminder that PIPEDA, Loi 25, CASL, and the OPC's OBA guidelines don't exist in separate silos — they interact in real campaigns. AI is changing digital advertising fast. But consumer trust in AI is dropping — from 61% globally in 2020 to less than 50% in 2024, according to the Edelman Trust Barometer. Survey respondents across Canada, the US, UK, and several European countries reject the growing use of AI in advertising by a 3-to-1 margin. The gap between what ad tech can do and what consumers want is widening. Privacy — real, operationalized privacy — is part of how brands close that gap. We cover the intersection of AI, data, and consumer trust in Privacy in Digital Media.
