An Air Force major was arrested on the steps of the Capitol on Wednesday after calling for President Trump’s and Vice President Vance’s impeachments.
Peaceful demonstrations are permitted on Capitol grounds, but a protester must remain alongside a member of Congress to speak openly from the steps.
Originally, Air Force Maj. Jason Watson was accompanied by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who later left.
Upon the lawmaker’s exit, Watson was directed to come off the steps or face arrest, U.S. Capitol Police told The Hill. Watson was then arrested for crowding, obstructing and incommoding, the authorities noted in a statement.

Heat and humidity as severe, prolonged and far-reaching as this week’s would have been “virtually impossible” in the Northeast and eastern Canada before humans began warming the planet, a team of scientists said on Friday.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — The Florida State Board of Education voted 6–1 on Tuesday to prohibit illegal immigrants from enrolling in the state’s 28 public colleges and adult education programs.

A federal court has blocked the Trump administration from firing 19 intelligence officers assigned to DEI programs. (SNIP) In a 2-1 decision, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Trump administration’s firings were illegal because they did not allow for an appeal or the opportunity for the 19 intelligence officers to request a reassignment.
The Court further ruled that the Trump administration illegally made the decision based on the anti-DEI executive order signed by President Donald Trump upon entering office rather than “workplace misconduct” or “performance concerns.”

A Tibetan man protesting China’s occupation fatally set himself on fire outside the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan on Thursday evening, capturing the horrifying scene on livestreamed footage.
The protester, identified by a friend as Lobga Rangzen, was dressed in full monastic garb when he planted a Tibetan flag on the sidewalk and then self-immolated along the busy street during the evening rush, according to the video.
He scattered pieces of paper as he burned to death.
Rangzen, who has lived in the US for about 20 years and worked as an Uber driver, crumbled to the ground less than a minute

The two teen suspects wanted in the murder of Penn State student Billy Schmidt have been taken into custody.
22-year-old Billy Schmidt was studying journalism at Penn State and was set to graduate this December.
Schmidt was killed last month as he was returning home from an NBA Finals watch party at a bar when the two armed suspects fatally shot him.
The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Azzubair Outen-Fleming and Kaiseem Smith, 16, shot Schmidt in the chest in an attempted robbery ambush.
Azzubair Outen-Fleming was arrested in Colorado on Friday.
Kaiseem Smith turned himself in to the Philadelphia police.
