Merry Christmas

I could not let another day go by without wishing all of my friends a very Merry Christmas.
I have neglected my little blog so much this past month. Now the big day has arrived and I am so sorry to see it rush by so quickly. We have spent the day with family, our children and grandchildren. Now we are all settled down watching Christmas movies. Just relaxing and letting all the food we ate digest. LOL Hoping to still have room for another piece of that big beautiful cheesecake that is covered with strawberries. My daughter Katie's mil Lori sent it to us for a gift.
I have lots of holiday photos to upload and will do that soon. Meanwhile wanted to share these with you.
Here is an ornament that I stitched for my dear friend Siobhan. We both love the PS Santas and stitch them for each other my tree is loaded with santas she has made me over the years.

Here is a little ornament I stitched for a friend, I hope she has received it by now.

This is an ornament that I received from a dear friend Sue. She also sent me loads of candy canes to go along with it. Thank you so much, Sue.

Hope everyone has had the most wonderful Christmas. Here is a picture of my little Granddaughter Victoria singing her heart out at her Christmas Concert. It was the one of the best parts of the Christmas season...

Happy 4th Birthday, Victoria!!

Kitty Kat update

Katie brought them sweet little kitties to the vet and she found them to be 3 weeks old, very small and weak. The one that was in the bowl is the weakest of all and she has some few health problems. The vet said they had not nursed in awhile and the smallest one would not have lived another day and the others were a bit stronger. They are now in the care of a foster Mom who is nursing them back to health. They are thriving well and scampering around like little kitties should be with full tummies. They are going to find permanent homes for 3 and Katie wants that little one. She has just fallen in love with him. We all have. She is just so sweet and tiny.
Thank you all for your kind words and I will post updates and hopefully new pictures as soon as I get them.

What a beautiful first day of Autumn. My daughter Katie and her husband visited with us today and a little bit before she went home we took a little walk. A little ways down our road is a stream and one of my sils told me he had seen some tiny kittens near the stream, when he went to look closer they ran off. So we went for a walk to investigate. We are so glad that we did. We found 4 of them all huddled together. They were very dirty and so skinny and small. They seemed relieved to see us and were crying a lot, no sign of any mama cat, we looked around and waited awhile. We even went back down to check again, no mama. Poor things look like they were abandoned. My daughter Katie has brought them home with her and she is taking them to the vet tomorrow. One of them is very weak. As soon as we got them here we warmed up some milk and gave it to them. They didn't seem to know quite what to do with it but they did eventually figure it out. The milk was warm and they were shaking, and one of them just got right in the milk and lay in it. So sweet. don't mind the wrong date. Everytime I change the batteries in my camera I have to update the date and I forget to all the time.
The little kitties are in excellent hands now. Katie has taken them home, called her vet, and she is going to see them first thing tomorrow morning. They have been eating and drinking and Katie said looking all over the place and playing a lot too. They all have little teeth so the doctor said they may be older then we think, just small from not eating.

Thank you all so much for your compliments on my biscornu that I made. How wonderful to hear from all of you, and I am so honored because you are all so talented with the needle and your finishes are always so lovely. Thank you thank you dear friends.

LindaMc that is a design from Dinky Dyes, I bought a few months back from Mary Kathryns Handcrafts store. I just used the pattern again for this one and I used Wdw Garnet thread. I love reds and this red just seemed to be so rich looking.

I just love making biscornus I started another one its a Christmas pattern and I hope to finish it up tonight. Here is a picture of what I have done so far. Thats not the greatest picture but you can get an idea. The fabric is a linen full of sparkles, just perfect for a Christmas biscornu.

Here is my Little House Pumpkins design all finished in a box. Isn't it lovely. My friend Sue finished it for me and she did such a wonderful job. I just love everything she puts her little hands and needle and thread on.

Do you think she is a bit excited about going to school?? :)
She is loving nursery school and having lots of fun. Its amazing to me how much they learn nowadays then when I was young back in the stone age. LOL She is learning to read, learning math and also learning sign language.

A New Baby

We have welcomed a new baby in our happy home. A 5 month old rottweiler puppy. She is HUGE and the sweetest baby you could ever want to know. She does drool a lot, and trips over her feet a lot, but she is just wonderful. Her previous owner named her Nena (which is little girl in spanish) but we have been thinking of changing her name but have not decided on a good one yet.

Here she is meeting Sparky our mini dachshund.

This week has been just so busy. My son is home and leaving again tomorrow morning, it has been a fun week with him but it went way too fast. We also had my brother in law visiting for the week and he went home this morning. The Summer visits are coming to an end and time to start preparing for September and back to school time for the grandchildren. This is my favorite time of the year. The back to school time. Time to get lots of stitching done for the upcoming holidays.
Lots of ornaments, a few stockings, pumpkins and all that fun stuff. have bought so much new stuff this summer and have not sorted it out yet, or kitted anything up. Hope to do that soon. Meanwhile I been trying to catch up with my mystery sampler and I will post an updated picture of it this coming weekend. Gotta go take my babies for a walk. Good night all.

How many minutes does it take to cook a husband...

Here is my honey when we were in Delaware last weekend. I had to laugh because he was laying there relaxing, and tells me this feels great a couple times. Then he finally said, WOW I got to get out of here, its so HOT!! I told him it looked like he was in a big pot simmering.

So while he was simmering away, I went with my dear friend Siobhan to Strawberry Sampler and stocked up on some more stash. Ahhhh it was heaven.

I got 3 great pieces of linen

Autumn Field
Autumn Blush
Country Mocha
JBW Very Merry Christmas
JBW French Country Bunny
JBW French Country Pear
JBW French Country Stocking
JBW French Country Love
La-D-Da This is the Day
Notforgotten Farm Family Tree
The Primitive Needle - Of Female Arts
Permin of Copenhagen Sampler
I also got a PS that was Out of print.

We also visited the Eldreth Pottery Co and I got the most beautiful piece of redware pottery. It has blackbirds painted on it and I thought I would love to display it near some blackbird stitched pieces. I have decided that I am going to collect this gorgeous redware and this piece represents my wonderful time with Siobhan. We already can't wait to go back again. There was a lovely mermaid that I wanted to get but didn't and now of course I regret it but thats okay. I will just have to go back.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

It has been well over a week since my last post, I have been a busy blogger and a bit of a lazy blogger too.

Our days at the recreation group have been so busy, we did so many fun things with the children. We took them to our local fair, to a water park, we have had so many things going on. Today we had a search and rescue dog come visit us and the officer who is his partner showed his skills off. It was very interesting and so much fun for the children and us counselors.

Last weekend I had the best time ever, my friend Siobhan has come from Ireland to the US to visit family and I drove to Delaware to see her. I stayed there for a weekend and had the best time. I miss her so much, I wish she didn't live so far away. We try to squeeze as much fun into our visit as possible. It was just so great to see her and get to spend some fun time with her. We had a blast. I was so sad to say goodbye. I am already counting the days till her visit next year. I got to see some of her beautiful stitching, we went together to pick some up from the framer. OMG GORGEOUS and she put some other pieces in for framing. Everything was just so beautiful. We bought lots of stash too and that was so much fun.

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?? I was not able to get a very clear picture since the feeder is on a window behind a screen so the picture is not so good. Well, him and his little friends come to eat every day and they are just so pretty. The picture doesn't show what a bright yellow bird he is. We have been so lucky this year getting all sorts of birds that we have never seen before. We do have birdfeeders all over with all sorts of feed. We tried to do this before but a bear got to them and ripped them down. This year we have been lucky so far. Though I know there has been a bear lurking around he has not touched the feeders yet. Guess my garbage is keeping him full for the time being.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

This is the first rainy day 4th of July that I can remember. Our town parade was cancelled. I am not sure about the fireworks at sundown but it doesn't look like there will be any. Its been pouring out all day and cold too. Feels like an autumn day.
We had a little celebration inside, We had barbecued ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob and I made this jello dessert that I found in a magazine. It was DELICIOUS!
No 4th of July would be complete without watching our favorite movie Yankee Doodle Dandy. Its such a great movie and so full of fun.

Someone can't wait!

Here it is, Friday again and I have not posted since last Friday, shame on me. The days sure get away from me.
Thank you all so very much for all the nice comments on my Gameboard end table. I was so pleased that everyone liked it so much. I wish I could email you all my thanks but I can never seem to find emails addresses for those who post comments. thank you all again. You are all so kind. Hug to ((((All of you)))).

This has been a busy week for us. Today was the last day of school for my grandson who is 9 and going into 5th grade in September. Earlier this week his school invited us to attend an award ceremony. The fourth grade classes chose 2 students to receive awards for the highest academic honors and I am happy to say my Grandson received this award, the other person was a little girl in another 4th grade class. We are so proud of him. He is so smart. I can't help but brag a little. :) He also got an award for band, for improving with his instrument. He plays a baritone. OY!! Thats all I am going to say about that. LOL Oh yes, I forgot,he now wants to learn to play the Tuba. Lord help us!!
It was a nice ceremony which was very informal, they had the children all sit on the floor of the gym and we all sat around along the walls or on the bleachers. My granddaugher Tori, his little sister was so thrilled to see him come in with his class that she ran over to him and sat down right next to him among his classmates. He didn't mind at all, and neither did his teacher. She was right at home in the middle of them all and got fussed over quite a bit from some of his classmates who thought was so cute and funny. She clapped and cheered along with them all.

What a great week for stash too, I got a lovely chart from Martina Dey in the mail today. Its a quaker bell pull and its so pretty. I am so excited about it. I can't wait to choose the thread for it. I am sure I will do it in red, like she shows on the chart.
I got a few other great items too, Little House Needleworks "The Sampler Lady". Oh she is just so cute and I hope to stitch her soon. I first thought of stitching her as a standup but now that I have her, I want her definitely in a frame. I also got Little House Needleworks Summer Sampler kit. I am on automatic with these thread packs and threads. They are very pretty, I also have the spring one yet to do. Recently I also got Dragonfly stitches Breast cancer Biscornu, which is lovely. I am anxious to stitch this one. Its so important, it says hope for a cure on it. In addition I got a beautiful piece of fabric from Silkweavers called Days gone by, what a lovely color. I also ordered more fabric but still waiting for it to arrive. Days gone by is just so nice. I think all sampler lovers would definitely love his piece. Ahhhh yes, my new threads, I bought 5 Belle Soie silks. GORGEOUS!! 2 Sister Scarlets, 2 Lasagna, and 1 Rouge. I love them all but in particular love that Sister Scarlet. I can't wait to stitch with it. The lasagna I bought to stitch a Maine coon cat design I got but I am thinking now its a bit too close to lasagna. Maybe a bit too orangey but I am going to try and see how it stitches up. I think it will look great for some Autumn stitching, too. These threads are just so pretty and so soft.

This evening I spent a few hours trying to catch up with my Vierderlanden Mystery Sampler. I did get a lot done. Its getting so big and more lovelier. We are now up to the 30th week, 30/54 I think believe. I am working on page 28 and hope to be all caught up this weekend. I will post a picture of it then.

It has been a busy past few days. My little grandaughter Tori turned 3 years old yesterday. We had small party for her on Sunday but yesterday we took her to her favorite restaurant APPLEBEE'S. We had a great time and she loved it. She got a oreo sundae for her dessert and they carried it out singing Happy Birthday to her. She was so thrilled. 3 years old. that time flew by. She is so sweet, a handful at times, very stubborn but when she smiles at me or puts her little hand in mine, thats it for me. She has definitely stolen my heart, she shares it with her brother Tyler.

Happy Birthday, Victoria
