A Note About TMR (From TMR)

The Macho Response is no longer about getting worked up, if, say, Elon Musk slams Tucker Carlson's interview with a fraudster who claims he had sex with Barack Obama, because (it's obvious) the result - from Elon Musk and everyone else - will be the same as when Ronan Farrow Said Bill Clinton Was ‘Credibly Accused’ of Rape: nothing.

Ronan Farrow was the third journalist to say it, if the point isn't clear. The credibility of an accuser, or a journalist, doesn't matter, because what is anybody gonna do about it anyway? Nothing. Look at how hard it is to prosecute Joe Biden - with an abundance of evidence - but how easy it is to torture Donald Trump with nothing. That is another clear indicator America's been in the NewAge for a long time, and has no ethics left to fall back on. Look around: nowhere to be found

Look at the, supposedly, now-heroic Bill Maher, shooing away evidence, decades ago, before he started going on TV to declare he's "on the side with all the good ideas." And then, just think: a little more of his attention in the 90s could've spared us all a Columbia University professor's seven year Russia hoax to sabotage a president. But no. Instead, today's media is making the "news" about a silly actress who almost bumped into a rapist - in the Hamptons

And so goes the cesspool of American life.

Today, the nation of "Nerd Jesus" is the NewAge, and TMR cannot be bothered where it leads. This blog is a party of one. You pretend anybody cares about cultism as you watch Google build a new Wellness center. TMR cannot. TMR is to not care. You see the destruction as well as anybody else, and TMR is not to stop it.

TMR is Brad Pitt quenching a thirsty Thelma and Louise - They drove off the motherfucking cliff.

Communing With Rapists Because Oprah (Is NOT A Sign Of Managing Info Well)

"Big Tech" is stupiderscarier - and more dangerous - than we've ever understood, if even lawyers (lawyers!) for Google are so confused that they spend their free time "searching for God" (139 years after God was declared dead) and no one at TED will stand up and say so.

Josh Hawley Uncovers SECRET Facebook Content Monitoring Software

facebook, Google, and Twitter are coordinating information, to track us across platforms, as suspected.

Silicon Valley's still a NewAge cult.

Everything Seems To Be Up-In-The-Air At This Point

Boy - for a time and place that's said to have been going fine and dandy - I sure can find a whole bunch of "looks like a cult" newspaper-type columns out there:
"The video is weird almost beyond belief, and it makes Google appear like a cult in the rigidity of the doctrines held and inculcated by its leadership. At one point, everyone is instructed to hug the person next to him, as at a human-potential movement weekend. It’s enough to make a reasonable person of moderate temperament gag."

And - Hey! - I'm now "a reasonable person of moderate temperament" - while y'all are weirdos, still awaiting your "Oh shit, it's a cult!" moment. Now THAT'S new!

Tell Me One More Time About How NewAge Is Harmless And Definitely Not A Cult

Here's what was written about Google's little post-election seance:
The tone of this meeting is that of mourning but the underlying stance is adversarial.

And about GOOP being called out for exploiting it's customers:

“Are there learnings you’ve had from the flak that you’ve gotten?” Amoruso asked.

Paltrow described “a lack of willingness to step into who I am ... Going into a hole is exactly the opposite of the lesson.”

“The lesson,” she added, “is to energetically cultivate, fuck you.’”

That's a lot of hostility, and unreasonableness, from a yoga and meditation crowd. I would have thought years of "practice" would've healed that by now.

Dr. Oz, Please, Keep Me Out Of The Workplace (I'm Just Not Religious Enough)

When people are weird at work, but can't see they're being weird, how do you reason with them? I've been dealing with this question, offline and on, for years:
What’s noteworthy here isn’t that everything said in the meeting is negative...but that, from the top down, the entire company takes it for granted its employees are in mourning over the results of the election. The subtext of all of this is clearly that the wrong person won and everyone is right to be anxious and upset. Google turns out to be exactly the narrow, progressive club that former engineer James Damore said they were last year.

It’s a bit difficult to see how a company which is such a partisan monoculture could possibly take care not to abuse its power to step on the people (about half of the country) who it thinks are wrong and possibly even dangerous. The tone of this meeting is that of mourning but the underlying stance is adversarial. Is it really possible this doesn’t have any real-world outcomes in Google’s work?

You can't get any peace. You're more likely to find Pat Robertson and a Christian prophetess are both making demands of the same hurricane, in a single week, than that. Which is a pretty remarkable occurrence for a pretty remarkable power.

But not as remarkable as celebrities thinking they get credibility back by talking to disgraced physicians. I don't know how that supposedly works. It doesn't add up. None of this stuff adds up now, except for the part where you look down and think:

America Is So Racist Even Google Could Be The KKK

Our government gave you 400 years of a bad (or no) education? Great - I'll hire someone else!

White Americans lie to themselves, about there being a meritocracy, so they have something to believe in. I just wish they'd stop lying to me - it's depressing. Like Silicon Valley's much vaunted reputation for fairness, equality, and diversity - those weren't even good ones:

Can you do a search for "reparations for racist set-ups"?

How can you "first, do no evil" when your company's born discriminating? How can you do it when your country was?

And why must whites lie about it all the time?

Unlike most of them, I have eyes - and they actually work:

You know, correctly, the way things are supposed to,...

Did I Say I Needed This? What Are They Up To, Really?

I don't know what to make of it, but Google's released a Music Timeline thingamabob, filled with links to albums in their store.

If you like it, let me know:

 I'm naturally suspect,…

Fools Like When Everything's An Opinion So They Don't Have To Check And See If They're The Ones Being Fools

C.H.U.M.P.s

Since Oct. 25th, 2005 (the day I asked my wife, "Honey, are you in a cult?") the world couldn't be bothered to check the facts and act accordingly. Instead, just as my cult-loving wife predicted, western society has laughed while telling me what they "think" - allowing whatever happened, right or wrong, to happen.

This has immensely validated the only firm truth I've ever learned, not from Google, but from the ghetto

Fuck a fact - all that matters is what you can "put your hands on."

And that's why things are the way they are.

Please make a note of it,....

MY TITLE BAR IS GONE! SCROLL WAY DOWN, BITCH!

I changed the blog's subheading quote this morning, to a joke on Betty Friedan, but the entire title bar (which I never touched) has elongated and the text has disappeared - and now a lot of the blog's other coding has started to come undone - go figure.

I've contacted Google about it, so we'll see how long it takes them to address it. In the meantime, it bears repeating - when disaster strikes - for all the great products Google provides, decent costumer service has never been one of them. They don't provide a lot of info for the common user (Yeah, we're going to understand how to edit their layouts? Sure,...) and just trying to find real contact info is excruciating.

Having been here before, it's honestly shameful how bad they've been in this regard:

Good Lord, it's not like they don't have the resources,...

NewAge Makes Sense Of Google's Cesar Chavez Doodle

I can't tell if I should stop blogging or reading, because they're definitely hurting my worldview. For example, check out this bit from a Victor Davis Hanson column I was reading:
I opened my Easter Sunday Google browser and did not find a Christian icon on the page, but instead a (badly done) romantic rendition of a youthful Cesar Chavez, apparently our age’s version of a politically correct divinity.
Yet I wondered whether the midlevel Googilites who post these politically hip images knew all that much about Chavez. I grant in this age that they saw no reason to emphasize Christianity on its most holy day.
Alright, so we've got Google - which is about as NewAge as you can get - slighting Christianity in typical NewAge fashion. So far so good - nothing new or revealing. It's Victor Davis Hanson as Glenn Reynolds. But then Hanson adds this:
Most hagiographies ignore Chavez’s eerie alliance with the unhinged Synanon bunch. In these parts, they had opened a foothill retreat of some sort above Woodlake, not far from here. (I visited the ramshackle Badger enclave once with my mother [I suppose as her informal "security,"], who was invited as a superior court judge to be introduced to their new anti-drug program in their hopes that county officials might save millions of dollars by sentencing supposedly non-violent heroin addicts to Synanon recovery treatments. Needless to say, she smiled, met the creepy  “group,” looked around the place, and we left rather quickly, and that was that.)
I don’t think that the Google headliners remember that Charles Dederich (of rattlesnake in the mailbox and “Don’t mess with us. You can get killed, dead” fame) was a sort of model for Chavez, who tried to introduce the wacko-bird Synanon Game to his own UFW hierarchy.

Wha-wha-what? I've been over this before (and been told I was off-base) but Synanon was your average NewAge cult:
The Synanon organization, initially a drug rehabilitation program, was founded by Charles E. "Chuck" Dederich, Sr., (1913–1997) in 1958, in Santa Monica, California, United States. By the early 1960s, Synanon had also become an alternative community, attracting people with its emphasis on living a self-examined life, as aided by group truth-telling sessions that came to be known as the "Synanon Game". Synanon ultimately became the Church of Synanon in the 1970s, and disbanded permanently in 1989 due to many alleged criminal activities, including attempted murder, and civil legal problems, including Federal tax-evasion problems with the Internal Revenue Service.

Note the jargon - "alternative" - and the results. Another great clue is this:
Charles Dederich, a reformed alcoholic and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.), was said to be an admired speaker at A.A. meetings.
Alcoholics Anonymous - more cult crap. Or how about this:
Control over members occurred through the "Game". The "Game" could have been considered to be a therapeutic tool, likened to a form of group therapy; or else to a form of a "social control", in which members humiliated one another and encouraged the exposure of one another's innermost weaknesses, or maybe both of these.[4] Beginning in the mid-1970s, women in Synanon were required to shave their heads, and married couples were made to break up and take new partners. Men were given forced vasectomies, and a few pregnant women were forced to have abortions.
And there goes Cesar Chavez. (Words you will never read on Instapundit or Althouse:) So what have we learned (about this world we live in today)?

We've learned that, on Easter, a famous and powerful NewAge cult (Google) promoted a famous and powerful NewAge cultist to the world (Chavez) who served in a famous and powerful NewAge cult (Synanon) under a almost-unknown NewAge cult leader (Dederich) and they committed a rash of horrible NewAge cult crimes that hardly anyone talks about. And - in the usual cult fashion - they did it on Easter to piss off their enemies, continue their religious war, and manipulate the public. That's what we've learned. Ugly shit, happening today, right under our noses - and directed at us. Now tell me, if I really want to carry on at all:

Should stop blogging or reading?
