Sad to report this is the end of the Tri-City Terror Blog. I believe, I am converting over to tumblr, but I will let my few loyal readers know the link on here. Thanks to the one person who wrote me ever. All these were shot Friday- Sunday in Philadelphia this weekend. It was nice to not really worry about what was making a good photograph and just shoot at will in a fairly new place.

This was honestly the best picture on the two rolls I developed recently. I took this on the Manhattan bridge only about a week and a half ago, my first stroll walking above China Town. I stopped him and took his picture. This morning on my compute, two stops from where I get off to work I open my eyes from a pleasant train nap, good commute, to him sitting right across from me with headphones in. I've started carrying prints in a little photo album with me everywhere I go. I do a cross comparison of the print and the gentleman in front of me and I get his attention. "Is this you?" I said. "Where did you get that?" he asked surprised. What are the odds? I was surprised too. I told him I took it on the Manhattan bridge and handed him the print. "I like that" he said. "It's like karma". I don't always get prints to my subjects, but it's nice when it's this easy.

I really poured a lot of energy into these three rolls. I tried, pretty hard. I fell sooo short. There were some definite couldabeenwinners that came out blurry. I know I know, I should get a manual focus camera. But then it's all my fault! Photography is all about failure.

Brrrr is winter over yet? These are a combo of a couple of new point and shoot cameras. I have one that I was harboring, a cannon sure shot, and a Minolta. Also tried a new lab, 88 images in Chinatown. I like it a little better than the one I have been going to, but it is not as fast as the one in Brooklyn. Consider a few of these a study on crossing the street with slushy puddles. Few days off and a 5 pack of Portra coming up.

Tried a third backup camera, still having blurry pictures. It's me everybody!! My new plan is to get an SLR so I can go back to having more control. I think my love affair with point and shoot is over. I feel like I am in a slump, but hopefully spring comes soon. I took these today.

Some shots from half a roll. My camera literally, not digitally, froze during one shot. I guess when it thawed it decided it wasn't going to shoot anymore of the roll and half my pictures didn't come out. Film, still a surprise. I'll have to have some beers to forget about all those other shots I missed out on. For the record, there was an insanely creepy clown in the park sleeping. Predicting a lot of proof that Santa exists on the next roll. Also love to see Dorothea Lange in a tourist trap photo display in China Town.

Man, what a great vacation! Can't say I took so many pictures, too busy enjoying the moment. First post from BROOKLYN!! I made it. Currently updating from my girl friends lap top in a cafe near our sublet. Some of these are from that neighborhood, and a 30 minute walk through manhattan near the park. Some are from my "last" time in San Francisco. Pretty home sick, I can't wait to cruise through Manhattan for an extended amount of time with my Yashica. Oh right, I got another Yashica T3*!!! Also have the olympus epic still, which rules in low light. I wish I could combine them both into my ultimate dream camera. I have to say that I haven't magically transformed into a master photographer upon setting foot here, but I am making some bold inner promises to push myself. Until next post! -TCT

This will be my last post from the Bay Area, though most of these photos are from Southern California. I've been moving around a lot on mini family road trips, and moving all my stuff. Pro tip here, if you think you are going to move ever - take care of those negatives before you leave in three days. Next Stop is Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Philidelphia, and my new home, Brooklyn. Yep, moving to Brooklyn! See you there, and lots and lots(15)of Portra Rolls in about a month.

When riding your bike super far, I want to take a lot more pictures than I do, but it's too hard to stop riding! Getting off the bike becomes a chore, and thus... you know. Getting some streakage, I think some black tape will fix it where the film window is. If it doesn't, then I quit. Well, I know I won't, but I'll be shooting with a grumble.

I have been on a pretty intense work schedule for what seems like forever. I wish I could take more pictures. Some of these streaks I think are from the flash not getting turned off - but further experiments needed. Most of these taken on a lunch break, on love your lake day. Got a new Olympus Epic Stylus - I'm into it. 80 dollars off craigslist. Turning the flash off every time you turn the camera on is pretty annoying, but it's so small!! This roll of 24 came with it, and was a short test run. The guy pictured on the stairs ended up chasing me down the block yelling at me. He wanted me to ask his permission. Looking at the photo though, it looks super posed after everything. I tried to smile and walk away, but he came after me threatening to break my camera and my neck and blah blah. In short, should have confronted it right on and not walked away. Thanks for the shot Todd.

Took this Minolta out for a test run in SF. It's somewhat embarrassing to mention how hard I was trying to be aggressive in these candid photos. The "aggression" was there, but the inspiration in subjects, focus(literally) and composition was not so much. I think that's called trying too hard. It looks like I might have bad light seals on this camera, as there are a few consistent streaks on a few frames. One disadvantage to no longer doing every step myself, is I don't know if it's the camera, me, or Walgreens. One day I'll figure everything out, but until then I'll try again.

Played with "Posing" and did a lot of street portraits - mainly because my ability to keep cool and shoot candid comes and goes. Also, been thinking about Diane Arbus a lot and her posing I don't got it. Shy guy. I really need a camera if somehow anyone in the bay area is reading this. Shooting disposables again, it's kind of fun - but i'd like a point and shoot.
