The Anti-Hero

This interesting and evil looking character is from Gamezone Miniatures

I had a lot of fun with the Dragon Motif!  I got a chance to play around with all manner of red tones.  Some warmer, others cooler and more muted, etc.

I tried to continue the dragon imagery on the base as well!

He's also here:

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

OK!  The wolf mini for the "Painting Fur" video is complete.  It's always fun to paint critters!

I used several Secret Weapon washes in combination with some Vallejo glazes, with very fun results.

I was putting down glazes, and then wiping away parts of them with either a clean brush or some tissue, just like my old watercolor days!  I really enjoy that. :-)  I had a blast mixing in greens and even purples onto this figure...

This is a wolf from Gamezone, normally used for goblin wolf riders.

It worked very well for this video, which made me happy!!

Dark Elf Musician on Cold One from Gamezone

This is the last of the Dark Elf cold ones from Gamezone.  As you can see, they are a bit on the large size, compared to the GW versions...

The base is sculpted from Apoxy Sculpt.

The rest of the crazy Gobbos from Gamezone!

These guys just kept getting funnier.  Cathy painted the fanatics, and some pesky Gobbos that had a different sort of 'moon' in mind...

Gotta love the Target Goblin!

And this guy hauling garbage...

This shaman was fun as well with the warpstone.

The various bases were done in a few ways... either carving a chunk of baked sculpey, or by sculpting some rocks with apoxy sculpt.

Look out!  Incoming!

The Painting Pyramid kickstarter is almost at the next stretch goal...

Gamezone Black Orcs!

Here are some interesting figures from Gamezone, which are available from CoolMiniorNot.

I am very tempted to snag some of these to use as orc characters and heroes for our Lord of the Rings games.  The GW versions are just not 'big' enough to represent an orc hero, and the armor on some of these guys just reeks Mordor...

There are a few weapon options on them, with shields, swords, axes, etc.

These next few are good examples of that...

Now that LOTR is much more WYSIWYG, you have to represent what weapons they actually have.  This makes these guys even more handy!

They go together in a very different way from what you would expect, so keep that in mind.  I did come up with a method that made creating strong joints pretty fast and easy...

This is definitely my favorite of all the Gamezone orcs.  Tons of character, great armor, and some options on weapons.  On top of a decorative base, you could definitely see him threatening the gates of Minas Tirith!

Gamezone Demonettes

Here's a few Demonettes from Gamezone Miniatures.  They are available on CoolMiniorNot.  It was a fun exercise in variations of purples.

It was very fun to have warmer and cooler purples and pinks, using saturation levels and so on to get variations in the flesh tones.

Balancing that with the golds and brassy colors was pretty natural.

The champion figure was a favorite of mine...

I will be doing a video of a demonette with this flesh tone for my "Non-human flesh tone" for my Painting DVD kickstarter:

Gamezone High Elf Archers

Here are some High Elf Archers from Gamezone that I painted last year.  The bows are certainly different...

It was interesting that all of them were crouched down, instead of all standing up, like usual.

The command group is also interesting.  The harp is pretty wild!
