Spire of Ash (v0.1.8)
A downloadable game for Windows
Spire of Ash (Early Access / Public Beta)
Spire of Ash is my dark-fantasy ARPG/party battler prototype — a run-based climb through an infinite tower of escalating floors, where builds snowball, loot gets weird, and your party either adapts… or gets erased.
This is a public early-access beta. It’s playable, it’s already addicting, and it’s also very much still being tuned. Balance, tuning, and bug fixes are the top priority right now — and now that the auto-updater is in place, I can ship changes fast.
What it is
- Infinite tower progression: push floor after floor until you wipe or Death catches you.
- Party-based combat: build a team, experiment with roles and synergies, and watch your run evolve.
- ARPG-style loot and power curve: gear upgrades matter, scaling ramps up, and your choices compound.
- Systems-first design: I’m building this like a “forever game” foundation — deep progression, lots of knobs, lots of future content.
Current focus (what I’m actively improving)
- Performance and stability
- Bug fixing (especially the annoying/obvious stuff)
- Balance + tuning (making the difficulty curve feel fair, punchy, and readable)
- UI clarity / player-facing explanations (less “why did that happen?”)
Downloads
The site offers two build types:
- Installer (recommended): easiest setup + auto-updates
- Portable: no install, just run it
Feedback
If you play even one run and tell me:
- what felt good,
- what felt confusing,
- what felt unfair,
- and what you wish existed…
…that’s insanely helpful. This whole beta exists so I can tune the game around real human behavior instead of just my dev brain.
Thanks for trying it — seriously.
