My goal is to make simple yet interesting new games whenever I get time off of work.
Who are you?
An enterprise backend dev who is tired of process theater and the corporate industry looking to transition into indie game development long-term. Ever since I was a child, I would boot up my old second-hand PC my uncle gifted us from his office and try all sorts of new games. We started with 64 MB RAM if I remember correctly, and our eventual 512 MB RAM upgrade felt like a major event!
I've always been fascinated by games, so it was somehow natural by association that I'd be pushed into software development. Enterprise APIs, eventing systems, gateways, pipelines, crons, dashboards; you name it, I've built it. I enjoy the building aspect of software development but can't stand the process theater envelope and dramatics around it that pervades the industry.
I've been thinking of saving up enough and quitting corporate for good, so I can embrace my true passion of building projects I can take pride in. I'm severely underpaid for what I do but thankfully my wants are miniscule and I'd rather die happy than rich, soulless and miserable.
If you try my games, I’d genuinely like to hear what worked and what didn’t.
