Twenty-five years ago, everyone in the school computer room played snake on their noon break. When I figured out we could edit the game's code, I gave the snake a rainbow skin, added a special food type, even built an extra level. The whole room lost it. This game that everyone had played a hundred times without ever expecting more - it could be more.
That curiosity led me into the game industry, where I spent years working at large studios where revenue came before fun. When it came time to figure out what's next, I went back to the game that started it all and built it the way players deserve.
