On the whole, happy with the service, when things are going well. I regularly issue cheques, use the cashpoint & pay my Barclaycard bills using the app on my phone. Occasionally though, when I need to query something or use a different service, I find the staff in the branches are not as knowledgeable as they used to be. I used to go into my local branch (Leamington Spa) & the cashiers could help me with virtually anything I asked. Sometimes I would be passed to a Personal Banker who again was very knowledgeable. These days however, I end up explaining things to the staff! The other day I had to explain what joint & several liability meant - please train your staff like you used to, it really doesn’t leave me feeling confident that my money is in safe hands when the staff cannot answer basic questions - they often tell me to use one of their phones to ring a department - if I wanted to explain my query over the telephone I wouldn’t have gone to the hassle of getting up the town. I would also like you to reintroduce those helpful cashiers who could actually process any transaction - machines are very limited & again make your company appear “limited in capabilities “ - I have no idea why this is the image you wish to portray. The first bank that goes back to the “good old days/ways” will make a fortune! Let’s hope it happens. Whilst I have this opportunity, can I say closing the Warwick branch was a mistake - again the image you portray is that you don’t care about your customers. When you are in the customer service industry this is really not the image you should be going for.

So i made a transfer unknowingly to a fraudster account. What barclays did was to immediately lock my account and tried to contact me but unfortunately i wasn't able answer them but i got no way of accessing my app and able to pay the fraudster coz they immediately put a stop to it. It would be nice if all banks does that. Monzo did not do anything like that. It didn’t block me from using my app. But it would have been nice and safer that way atleast you will not lose your money. It sure as hell as scary at first coz why all of a sudden you are having a hard time accessing your app but then it is much safer for costumer. So unfortunately i bought a ticket through this person, she sent me the tickets through skiddle app and read that app was almost perfect rating in here so imagine my surprise that it is a scam and the tickets are all invalid tickets so when i showed up to the event i couldn’t get in. I like what barclays did lock mynaccount so i have no way of paying it unlike monzo i was able to do the transaction. Not blaming monzo for my stupidity but it would have been a nice that it would protect people from scam and fraud. Kudos to barvlays for going extra mile protecting its costumer. Barclays is my main bank. Monzo is just for transferring small amounts.

Love the app, love the card section debit card allows you to do lots of great things to take control of your banking replace card (lost/stolen/damaged), temp freezes, amend cash machine daily withdrawal limits, view pin, my absolute favourites which help to prevent any fraudulent transactions remote purchases gives you the option to turn of all remote purchases or on in real time, merchant control blocking categories of particular merchants and in store international spending of your in the UK turn it off unless buying from an international website. Spending limit is also great to restrict your spending on debit card can be updated in real time. The credit card section in cards is slightly different and I think debit card and credit card both have amazing features but if features was all aligned would make it so much more the go to banking app. Card section on credit card allows you to replace (lost/stolen and damaged card), view pin and this is one is only available to barclaycard holders view card details shows all card details long card number, expiry date and security cvv amazing used this a few times when I haven’t had credit card and wanted to buy something online, would love to see this introduced for debit card to, manage direct debit payments no more late payment fees :) and amend credit limit preferences. These are fantastic bit of work needed to align features for all cards. I would like to see the option to request credit interest summary certificate and also option to request copy statements entering data from and to dates and document to be uploaded to Barclays cloud it In real time that’s first class banking come on Barclays let’s be the first to offer this

The app is really helpful to be able to manage money online/on your phone but there have been so many bugs, problems and things that need to improve that we have found it to be more of a problem than a help at times.One of the main problems that needs to be fixed is the way that transactions aren’t dated/time stamped exactly and can show up saying they happened up to a few days later, especially due to weekends, and also notifications of transactions aren’t always immediate and can also take a long time or not appear at all, which makes life really hard when you need to refer back to specific transactions for things or need to know what is happening with your account eg fraud, and has caused an awful lot of trouble for us in the past.It does have many amazing features which are great including being able to pay in a check through the app, online chat to customer service and other general services.If Barclays could sort out the problems and have it working smoothly, have immediate notifications and correct dating/time stamps to the minute then it would be a 5 star app.
