I was using Revolut before as my main bank for over a year, when chase came out I was referred so I fortunately got given £40 from signing up and signing someone else up. (We both still use the bank now as it’s great. They gave a year worth of free 1p per £1 spend cash back so that was such a perk. The app and card itself is stylish and simplistic. Didn’t have to pay for the card but did take a while to deliver, was the opposite for Revolut as had to pay £4.99 for the card itself and delivery. The transfers are fast, no advertisement or restrictions compared to Revolut !! Constant emails and gimmicks to sign up to pay for a better card etc. The customer service is great, I had problems signing in but called the number at 1:30 am in time and they answered from America for no extra charge, was just included in my unlimited call sim. They answered fast with no real waiting time, and helped quickly. Only two downsides I’ve faced is that my work payroll doesn’t accept the card to be a pay into bank but my Revolut does. So each month I find myself transferring my money from Revolut to chase. The savings account in chase is also so much better. The other issue is the same for Revolut too and it’s that our uk post offices don’t accept the card to transfer cash into! So annoying when you don’t want to carry cash.

I opened chase account when it was first advertised. I had problem in understanding fully how it works because i didn’t understand why I needed to have two accounts but after rang up customer service for help, an extremely patient lady talked my through the process and the principles, I started to experiment and to use the app with confidence. The most problematic issue I had is to transfer money between the savers and the current account but I can confidently say as off today, I am very conversant with the way in which as to transfer money amongst my internal and external account. I am also very happy with the extra unearned income I get via Chase’s cash back and round up facility. I am particularly appreciate at the time of financial crisis that I earned a respectable interest rates in my current (1%), savers account (2.1%) and round up account (5%). Not forgetting the fact that rewards accumulated could be transfer to the accounts for use as spending straight away or as savings. Last but not least, it’s really useful that notifications are received as soon as any transactions have been processed! Only one negative point I wish to make is, I do find it inconvenient that the debit card numbers are not visible on the physical card. For example, one day I had to tap in my card number at the car park payment page but I have all other information except for the long card number. Whilst I am trying to pay using my phone, I had a panic in needing to leave the parking payment page in order to open the Chase app. I just wondered, adding back the card number could be reconsidered. END

I am pleased with the service I have received so far. Signing up was easy and straightforward for me. The account was activated once I was approved and I could use the digital debit card immediately, adding it to my wallet on my iPhone while I waited for the physical card. I started to see that I was earning cash back amounts as I used my card to pay for purchases and I was able to open a savings account on the app to redeem my cash-back. I also signed up for the save and spend account and I’m glad to see my savings from rounding up my spending increasing. I am pleased I can see and manage my account on my phone via the app. Once my physical debit card arrived, I activated it on the app. I enjoy using the copy feature to enter my card details when I’m making a payment from my phone, this ensures that I enter the correct information. I travelled to Europe with my Chase card and I had no problems with it. The app showed me the equivalent of my euros spend in my home currency and I didn’t see any unexpected fees on my statement. Because of how well the service is, I am considering using their investment service, Nutmeg. The app has provided me with a lot of useful information and I’m working my through it.

Very happy, just a couple small negatives.

I don’t normally bother writing reviews but very very happy with the Chase app and bank in general. Easy to see your balance, card details etc. amazing money saving initiatives. 1% cash back for every £1 you spend (completely free), free physical bank card if you don’t use Apple/Google Pay. Another brilliant money saving initiative, when you spend money they round your payment up to the nearest pound and put that extra into a free savings account (not compulsory, you need to sign up for that, which is free to sign up to). No hidden fees, no ads, no spam emails. I would happily recommend this app/bank to family / friends. But as I said there is still negatives, small but annoying. The first is you can’t pay cash into the bank. So you need another bank to transfer cash into then transfer the money from that bank to Chase. I am also with Lloyds so go to a branch near me, deposit cash there then transfer using the Lloyds app the money to my Chase. Easy but a bit annoying. The second negative for me at least, is in Apple wallet app you can track payments made with your card, but you can’t see your accounts balance. Where as with Lloyds you can see your bank balance in the Apple Wallet app. This isn’t as of yet a feature with Chase. Bit annoying as I always use Apple Pay and would rather use Apple wallet to quickly check my balance than loading the Chase app every time as it’s quicker especially when you have poor signal. But those two negatives being said I can’t think of anything else to complain about very happy I got the Chase app and joined Chase.
