活動の背景SaaSを事業とする弊社では、さまざまなOSSを利用して製品を開発しています。 OSSは弊社製品を開発するために必要不可欠な物です。しかし、多くのOSSは個人で開発されています。 個人の趣味や興味で始めたOSS開発は、基本的にボランディアであり、無償です。利用者が増えて有名になればなるほど、サポート対応は増えてしまいます。 その分疲弊も増していき、最後には「開発自体をやめる」という選択に至るケースも見受けられます。 個人の限られた時間を、無償のOSS開発に割ける人は、ごく一部の限られた人だけ。開発にかける時間やモチベーションを長い間、保ち続けることは非常に難しいことです。 この課題について弊社なりに考えた結果が支援活動でした。 OSS開発者の貢献に対する感謝を示していきたい。 少しでもOSS開発を継続するモチベーションの維持になれたらと思い、金銭的な支援で、OSS開発を応援したい
