Subject: pipewire-jack: dpkg-shlibdeps does not find dependency information for libjack.so.0
Date: Sat, 05 Apr 2025 22:39:50 +0200
Package: pipewire-jack
Version: 1.4.1-1
Severity: normal

When locally building blender with pipewire-jack installed,
dpkg-shlibdeps fails with:

> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: Using shlibs+objdump for libjack.so.0
> (file /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pipewire-0.3/jack/libjack.so.0)
> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: Looking up shlibs dependency of libjack.so.0
> provided by 'pipewire-jack:amd64'
> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: Found nothing
> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: No shlibs+objdump info available, trying next package
> for /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pipewire-0.3/jack/libjack.so.0
> dpkg-shlibdeps: error: no dependency information found for
> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pipewire-0.3/jack/libjack.so.0 (used by
> debian/blender/usr/bin/blender)

blender build-depends on libjack-dev, which is also provided by
libjack-jackd2-dev. For reference, with only libjack-jackd2-dev
installed, the output looks like this:

> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: Using shlibs+objdump for libjack.so.0
> (file /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libjack.so.0)
> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug: Looking up shlibs dependency of
> libjack.so.0 provided by 'libjack-jackd2-0:amd64'
> dpkg-shlibdeps: debug:  Found libjack-jackd2-0 (>= 1.9.10+20150825) |
> libjack-0.125 in /var/lib/dpkg/info/libjack-jackd2-0:amd64.shlibs
