The Energy Science Center (ESC) aims to facilitate the deployment of an environmentally friendly, reliable, low risk, economically viable and socially compatible sustainable energy system. The ESC enhances cooperation between ETH Zurich, industry, government, and society on energy related issues, offering a platform for nourishing the exchange of information between the engineering sciences and the social sciences as well as for directing joint projects. The ESC synergistically combines key expertise in various disciplines to address large-scale problems successfully and to form flagship projects. These programmes will be large, financially intensive projects that have a visibility far beyond ETH Zurich and should promote energy research to a large extent.

Welcome to W*iSE 💫 We have officially launched Women* in Sustainable Energy (W*iSE) with our first event at ETH Zürich — a panel discussion and Apero featuring four inspiring Master Energy Science and Technology MEST - ETH Zurich alumnae. They shared personal experiences and advice on navigating academia, career transitions, and confidence in the energy field: 💡 At university, you learn to process information and solve challenges — but don’t forget the soft skills: communication, negotiation, and people management. Start learning them early; they’ll serve you for life. 💡 In academia, uncertainty is part of the process. Focus on showing up day-by-day and progress will follow. 💡 Imposter syndrome is real. You don’t need to know everything — trust your expertise, and the trust others place in you.
