| Well, it's not quite intentional I'm afraid. I had this nice melody in mind but had to realize this in a hurry, just to test the new SID-Wizard with a little bit of composing, had no time to work out chords. Bass-wise I dunno but something happened to my low-pitch hearing of sawtooth-basses, maybe it's a general human weakness, the harmonics of the bass timbre tend to make me hear the bass-note as being a little bit higher. This time almost a semitone which caused some false notes in the bass and drove me to think that SID-Wizard might have an issue. But I tested many times, even with machine pitch detection in Audacity, and it really seems the hearing is the issue. Maybe it's connected with a current medication, or it was always there, even though I'm a bass player and had never had that big problem with the instrument's notes. It's worth reading, to know whether there's something like 'optical illusions' but for the ears... |
