(1 edit)

i love this so much

Hello, I'm finally going to play this, but I'm not on my main computer right now, can I safely move saves between devices somehow (a tutorial would be appreciated ngl) ?
Thank you, take care! I love your work so much!!

Love this! I really enjoy all the little things the villagers can do and seeing where they like to hang out (I like that the pirates go both to the tavern and to stare at the ocean on the docks).

Is anyone else having trouble getting special events to work on the downloadable version? Might just be something I'm doing wrong, but I noticed it works just fine in the browser version!

I am actually having a similar issue on my own copy ;_; I will add it to the bug log!

Its Really Cute ! btw i love the music and also the Color Palette you chose . Cute game all together !

oh my godddd;;;;; this game is so freaking cute i loved making little guys <3 ..

This game is sooo cute !! very nice :DDD

(+2)

This game is cute I love it :D but can you make a mobile version?

Amazing, Terry!! It's so sweet and silly.

i like it and it's fun! :)

so cool!

(+5)

im too dumb but i spend 5 minutes trying to understand how to play, i could not do anything but change clothes and make him a chicken, i dont know how to move gregg or

(+1)

I think you just keep pressing the event button thought it would be similar to tamagoch

(+1)

I immediately had my little guy die upon playing around. I love this! It's an interesting concept and I kindof like the simplicity of fuck around and find out.

(+6)

With some deliberate testing, I can get the event error with each of the following single populations:

  • 1 student
  • 1 scamp
  • 1 villager
  • 1 ghost
  • 1 egg
(+2)

amazing! It's interesting that all of these except the ghost are baby roles; I'm wondering if there's a problem in the evolution somehow. Thanks for taking the time to test this out!

(+1)

Awesome game! Can somebody tell me if their villagers manage to change their roles on their own even if I picked something else entirely? Also, what are the number adders for the villagers too?

Thanks in advance!

(+1)

I recently completed the guide that explains what those numbers are up above. (skill level) If a little fella is a maid, egg, villager, scamp, or student, they will evolve on their own when they reach level 2. All other roles are final evolutions; you can let little fellas evolve on their own or choose their role yourself in the mini-menu!

cute!!! i made myself in this and will be using my sprite in my website w/ credits :)

oh nice! that's super sweet~

Tried split view on mac, I was playing this while finishing my assignment, this is fun. Are you gonna add the horizontally scrolling?

it looks like something in your browser is clipping the right side of the game; it should display everything normally!

thank you so much!! keep up the good work <3 wish you all luck :))

I'm so stoked about this! Thank you for inspiring me!

Show post...

smart game play dear

cutest game ever, but I have one pressing question, haha

what are those numbers for at the corner of the villager creation screen? skill? age? rating? I dunno, but I would love to gain a bit more understanding lmaoo

(+1)

these are your villager's skill! I just updated the "How to play" section to explain it a little better, under "Villager Mini-Menu"

making my friends in this little town made me super happy. thank you for sharing this project

Looked super cute so I was hoping to play this when I saw it yesterday, but every time I try to run the game from the browser, it wont even fully load before I get this error:

"Error occured: TypeError: can't access property "depthRange", T is undefined"

Waited a day to see if it was just a bug that would get fixed, but it seems like others are able to play it, so I'm not sure :(

that's a new one... can you play any other browser games from my page? if not, it may be something to do with your browser settings

(+1)

Ohhh you must be right, none of them work. A firefox issue maybe? Oh well, thank you for sharing your work with us!! Still super excited to try it, I'll download it later and see if I can figure that out lol :)

(+1)

I use firefox and I'm not getting that issue - really weird!! Good luck :3

OH ITS WORKING NOW??? so odd!! thank you for whatever you did lol!!!

(+1)

I was pressing random events (also in FF) and ran into what i think is the same (or similar?) error!

(+1)

Yay I love you!!!

(+1)

Hunter can accidentally kill themselves.
Assassin can kill themselves.

Don't know if intended... But was funny how these two happened one after the other in my game xDDD

(+1)

I'm a bit confused about what the changeable number in the individual profiles & the fairy icon in the top left both do. If somebody could reply /w an explanation, it'd be much appreciated!

(+1)

Looks like the fairy icon indicates a kind of kingdom event that will occur (the one next to the fairy icon, not character-specific event on bottom right). It can be deadly or magical etc (I've tried some of them). cmiiw tho
Still not sure about the number in character profile. I guess it's supposed to be the starting skill?

(+6)

I am not sure if i missed it or not.. so I will add it would be helpful to add a tutorial as to what to do, i didn't know that I had to make them originally i had to click around, as I was making the cute patronichi and was really confused when i didn't see them appear, i had no idea i had the ability to move around with the arrows or wasd , so.. a tutorial of somekind or direcction to start out with, would be really good. I love your content and your videos so that drove me to trying to figure it out, i don't think i would of tried to figure it out if i didnt know you or the work. after i was able to figure it out, it is truly a phenomial game. and i am so so so incredibly proud of you! keep going!!

EEEEPPPPP! Hoping it will be on Mac!!

thank you! Ill take a look.

pls make a mac launcher uwu!

(+1)

also in the long term, it would be really cool if we could see everyone's skill level. I'm not sure how hard this is, and wowie I'm so impressed this was done in a month while still working

(+1)

what is the number I can select when creating a character?

Yay! It looks so cute!

i made an vampire named angel, and so far his behavior is very accurate, lol

(+2)

he's turned giles. the plot thickens.

(+2)

This is so cute, I love it!

omg there's sound!!! its so cute and lovely <3

(+2)

this is weirdly scratching the part of my brain that played dragon vale as a kid, naming little guys and listening to medival music.... please permit me to share that absolute banger of a theme song. :3

(+1)

I'm always delighted by your games and your channel!

I found a bug: sometimes when I press the event button too frequently or when an event is already happening, the game will crash with the following message (although luckily the save data isn't wiped):

___________________________________________
############################################################################################

thank you this is super helpful! one of the events I wrote probably has a typo in it, Ill do a little digging this weekend...

sorry to bother but can you tell me what the job and skill level of the current residents are? it will help me narrow it down a bit. If you have like a bunch, no worries, that would be a hassle to sift through

(+1)

Sure! Here are their jobs and the numbers in the character profiles (which reminds me, I was confused by these numbers and what they mean because there's no text or instructions for them):

Farmer, 2
Butler, 4
Priest, 5
Student, 7
Chef, 10

(+1)

this is great, thanks! the numbers are their skill levels. Im making a game guide this evening!

Hey, I just checked out your game. Supes cutes. I did notice a visual choice which is common among game developers, which I thought you might like to know how to change. You seem to lerp between the camera position and the actual position with a fixed integer position, which causes some visual jitter on the slower movements.

I believe you make games with Game Maker Studio, so this tutorial may not be 1:1, but the principles are pretty easy to follow. The idea comes from a video called "Smooth Pixel Art Camera | Godot 4.4 Tutorial" on YouTube.

Essentially, all you're doing is moving the viewport (scene) around the camera (origin) by offsetting each vertex by the "camera position," which is dictated by your camera movement code. In a sense, your camera doesn't move; the world does.

If you have any interest in implementing this, best of luck!

good job I like it nice and cute I hope to see where this game goes next.
