The group membership of users can be managed directly from the WordPress Dashboard through the\u00a0Users<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0menu.<\/p>\n

Users can be assigned to any group and they\u00a0inherit the capabilities of the groups they belong to.<\/p>\n

All users are automatically added to the\u00a0Registered<\/em>\u00a0group.\u00a0This provides a convenient way to open up\u00a0content to registered users only, without the need to create any specific additional groups.<\/p>\n

Individual actions<\/h2>\n

You can add the user to one or more groups and you can also remove the user from groups here.<\/p>\n

1) Make sure that the User profiles<\/strong><\/em><\/a> option is enabled so that the groups the user belongs to are shown on the user profile page;<\/p>\n

2) Select the user\u00a0you want to Edit<\/strong><\/em>;<\/p>\n

3) Add or Remove the desired Groups<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and hit the Update User<\/strong><\/em> button.<\/p>\n

Bulk actions<\/h2>\n

You can add multiple users to one or more groups here and also remove them.<\/p>\n

For a quicker and convenient way to display only members of a certain group,\u00a0a set of links that restricts the users displayed by group is available on top of the Users table.<\/p>\n

A new group-actions block is available in the\u00a0Users<\/em>\u00a0section of your WordPress dashboard. The\u00a0Group Actions<\/em>\u00a0are applied to the users that are selected in the table below.<\/p>\n

Group actions include the option to add one or more users to one or more groups and to remove these users from one or more groups<\/span>.\u00a0The groups to which users should be added (or removed from) must be chosen in the field that indicates\u00a0Choose groups<\/strong> \u2026<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s assume that you want to include two users (Susan and Margaret<\/em>)\u00a0in the existing group named Basic<\/em>.<\/p>\n

  1. Select the users you want to include.<\/li>\n
  2. Select the Group Actions<\/strong> <\/em>you want to apply.<\/li>\n
  3. Input or select the name of the desired\u00a0group\u00a0in the field\u00a0Choose groups …<\/strong><\/em> and hit Apply.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
