Sandeep Prakash is a former Principal Chief Commissioner of GST & Customs. He served for 35 years in the Indian Revenue Service. Prakash worked in various capacities in the central government, most notably as Principal Chief Commissioner of GST & Customs, Hyderabad; Additional Secretary (RA), Department of Revenue; Principal Additional Director General, DGGI; Commissioner of Customs, Bangalore; founding Secretary of Airports Economic Regulatory Authority and as Director in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He did his M.Tech. from IIT, Madras and LL.B. from University of Delhi. He co-authored “The Duty Exemption Scheme" which was published in 1996.   He was co-convenor of Sectoral Group relating to Big Infra and Real Estate and coordinator for State of Chattisgarh at the time of implementation of GST in 2017.
