I have a controller again!
That means I'm going to be able to play all the Newgrounds games I always meant to play but haven't yet that's doable with a controller! That also means I get to continue updating my awesome list!
This brings me one step closer to my ultimate mission of creating a Newgrounds machine. Think a Raspberry Pi running dirt simple Linux that auto boots up a web browser to a Newgrounds homepage with an attached black and orange controller), but in the meantime, the closest thing I can think of is the Steam Deck.
Your Mission
Should you choose to accept it is to get Newgrounds controller support working on Steam Deck. How cool would it be to play Flash games on the go with a damn controller? Niche? Yes. Would I love the HELL out of it? Also yes.
It’s so close! Ruffle runs in Linux natively already, and the Deck has a native controller mode on desktop! But even after enabling it, and trying to install a whole bunch of weird drivers and stuff, I've had no dice. It's Linux, what can you do? You can already do something like that with Flashpoint, but there’s just some sort of breakdown. So close! I'm no programmer. So... it's up to you. Succeed and... I don't know. I can give you a coupon for one free commission or something. We can work something out. DM me if you think you can my dreams come true. Or at least my really unambitious dreams that I'd like to have happen right now.
