  5. Just thought I'd share this. Rolling back in time, this lengthy retrospective video covers the announcement of Generals 2, the change to C&C Free to Play model and then its bitter cancellation. Even I appear in this video, but just briefly. This video was posted about an month ago. I watched it last night. A nice trip down memory lane. Zade is a fellow Kiwi and YouTuber, some great content on his channel https://www.youtube.com/@Zade_95
  6. Well it took one person (RedDeadSmeg) to remake the entire Tiberian Sun and Firestorm campaigns for one amazing C&C3 mod, which is Tiberium Essence, except that only version 1.6 is working. Those missions will not work on recent versions of Tiberium Essence. Also a 4GB patch tool is required for C&C3, get it here: https://ntcore.com/4gb-patch/ For Tiberium Essence 1.6: Original Beta: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tiberium-essence/downloads/tiberium-essence-16-beta Unofficial Patch: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tiberium-essence/downloads/tiberium-essence-16-patch-unofficial For Tiberian Sun campaign: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tiberium-essence/addons/te-1-6-random-ts-and-fs-missions For Firestorm campaign: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tiberium-essence/addons/te-16-firestorm-missions-gdi-1/

  10. Hello everyone, I'm looking for someone to create a custom map for Zero Hour based on the Western Sahara region in North Africa. I want the map to reflect the real-life conflict there. Key features I'd like to see: The Moroccan Berm: A long, defensive wall (like the real one) separating the two sides. It doesn't have to be perfect, but something that visually represents a fortified line using objects like sandbags, barricades, or raised terrain. Terrain: Realistic desert terrain – mostly sand and gravel (hamada), with some rocky hills and flat areas. Faction Representation: Moroccan side: Should have more resources (like oil derricks) representing the controlled areas. Polisario side: Should have more cash crates or supply piles representing their reliance on external support. Player Setup: 2-player map (1v1) or 4-player (2v2) would be great. I've tried using the World Builder myself, but I'm having trouble finding the object tools and creating the wall. If anyone has the skills and time to make this map, or if you know of an existing map that looks like this, please let me know! Thanks in advance!

What's the CNCNZ discord you mentioned? So sad to see this beautiful forum replaced by that shite. All because of convenience.

  13. Just in case you're still looking here... A while ago I found the match "reckless baby griefs" for PARM_BIB. This is an interesting match, given the connection of the word "bib" with babies, with the "reckless" and "griefs" possibly referring to the fact that if you're not careful, you can easily mess up your own base if bibs are disabled, since it allows building things too close together, which can block buildings with required entry/exit points, such as the Refinery. Note that "griefing" in the modern gaming sense of the word didn't exist back then, so this should be interpreting as "regretting one's actions". Definitely not what I'd call 100% confirmed, but, more plausible than anything we had so far. Nowadays, I'm documenting all this stuff on the TCRF wiki.
  14. Hello dear friends, good time I have a question, if possible, please help me. Thank you I wanted to add the Laser Point Defense feature to the Comanche, B-52, cargo plane, and A-10 Thunderbolt items, and I came and copied the code for this option from one of the items that had this feature, such as the Stealth Fighter, and I copied it in the section related to the mentioned items. It only worked properly for the Comanche and it was activated, not for the others. Of course, I did this in the Air Force section. Then I came and went to the Air America section and did the same thing and it worked! And it was activated for the other items as well, but the problem is that this will cause this option to be activated for all American teams, which I don't want. I want it to work only for the Air Force. Is there anything I can do?
  15. Hi all, I’m working on a RA3 mod where I’ve modified weapon values, particles, and veterancy behaviour. I created a custom WeaponTemplate.xml with new weapon IDs. Each custom weapon ID is tied to a veterancy level that grants its own abilities. Everything works as expected in skirmish mode, but the changes do not apply in single-player campaign. After debugging, I noticed that the campaign only works correctly if I replace my custom weapon ID with the original one (e.g. SovietCommandoSniperRifle). However, if I do this, the veterancy levels that are linked to the other custom weapon IDs will not function. Is there a known limitation with campaign units referencing weapon IDs, or is there a way to force the campaign to recognize custom weapon IDs the same way skirmish does. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Actually Tempest Rising that got me thinking about C&C more again and also leading to me logging back in. I don't have much freetime but have enjoyed Tempest Rising so far. Been dipping in and out of GenEvo for Generals too.

Popped by to see the state of the community years later. Hopefully, Lion is doing well wherever he is. And now, time to see what kind of modding scene, plus whatever is "new" to this little nook of the internet.

    modsdkv3.exe problem

If it doesn't recognize your installation, you can try breaking open the installer. You'll need UniExtract: https://github.com/Bioruebe/UniExtract2 With it, extract the contents of MODSDKv3.exe to a folder, and from within that folder, extract data1.cab, also using UniExtract.

    modsdkv3.exe problem

Mod sdk v3 .exe cannot find my game installisation. where i need place my game? i using ea apps for donwloading red alert 3.
  22. Yes, you were right! 🎉 Using INSTALL.EXE (the DOS installer from The Covert Operations) via DOSBox (within Wine) simply copied 4 relevant files LOCAL.MIX, SC-000.MIX, SC-001.MIX, SPEECH.MIX from the expansion CD into my game folder. Running C&C95.EXE now shows a new menu item for the expansion missions. Thank you very much for your help!
  23. Aha! Thank you very much for your response. That sounds great So I guess that means if I can get the (DOS) installer from my The Covert Operations CD to install into my existing (Windows) game folder in Wine, C&C95 will show the expansion? I will have to try that...
  24. It means no specific Windows version of Covert Operations was actually compiled. C&C95 just knows what files to look for to enable Covert Operations content.
  25. Hmm... not sure what I'm doing wrong then. I have the CD version which seemingly only contains DOS binaries. (Which don't run with Wine, which is what I'm using to run my C&C95.) It's been a long time... and I don't remember what I did back then on my actual Windows 95 PC. I feel like I did play the expansion in SVGA, too. But then I found this: From: https://cncnz.com/games/command-conquer/covert-operations/ So you're saying the DOS binaries (if I can get them to run) will run in SVGA?
