Hi,

I just did an emerge --sync. For the first time ever, portage clobbered some of my custom Binary Packages. Its not a huge deal, as I have backups. However, I'd still like to know why it did this, to prevent it from happening again. Can anyone tell me why this happened?

Output from Portage emerge --sync follows:
Code:

Performing Global Updates
(Could take a couple of minutes if you have a lot of binary packages.)
  .='update pass'  *='binary update'  #='/var/db update'  @='/var/db move'
  s='/var/db SLOT move'  %='binary move'  S='binary SLOT move'
  p='update /etc/portage/package.*'
