This game was initially made for the Brackey Game Jam 2026.1

In this strange world ruled by Zroth, you must regularly pay a tribute to avoid the apocalypse.

Your goal is to gather the resources needed to pay this tribute before time runs out.

To do this, you will need to use these resources wisely to capture locations that will give you even more in return.

Resources

You have 3 resources to manage, each with a special purpose:

  • Wood, used for building.
  • Gold, used to upgrade your base.
  • Villagers, used to capture specific locations.

But be careful each resource is also required to build paths toward new locations and expand your territory, so make sure you don’t run out of any of them.

Locations

There are several types of locations that allow you to acquire the resources needed to pay the tribute and expand your kingdom:

  • Forests for wood.
  • Mines for gold.
  • Villages for villagers.

Each location has its own system for generating resources, so use them to create powerful combos!

There are also other locations to discover that will either strengthen or weaken you. Among them are relic sites.

Relics

Relics are strange objects that grant effects to your kingdom. Don’t miss them, they will make your journey easier.

However, be careful, your kingdom can only hold a limited number of these powerful relics. It’s up to you to choose wisely and create your own build.

Biomes

The world of ZrOth is made up of many different biomes that affect your kingdom.

Use them to your advantage, or avoid dangerous ones to expand safely.

Replayability

Each defeat makes you stronger by unlocking new effects and environments that you can use!

The World of ZrOth

The world of ZrOth is cruel, and only by using all its rules to your advantage will you gather enough resources to survive.

It’s up to you to endure as long as possible and build the most prosperous kingdom.

And never forget… ZrOth is watching you

Congrats on the game jam result! I thought this was a really unique concept. I included Zroth in my Faves video for the Game Jam. In case the start at link didn't work, it start at 12:54.

I have been playing this game since I rated it. It is quite challenging which makes it addictive. However, there are also some frustrations, which I hope you don't take offense. I would really want to play this game in a fulfilling manner since it's a really fun game.

There are objectives that seem impossible to achieve in just 9 turns. For example, I have 500+ wood and the objective requires 1300+ wood yet the only resources to gather wood from are limiting (e.g. Earn 0-3 wood, Earn 2 wood each turn you don't take a forest) Even if I acquire a forest which doubles the effect of the next forest, it doesn't feel enough to reach the objective.

I also don't feel the effect of upgrading the town. Instead of reducing the cost, perhaps increasing the number of turns would be more helpful (or every time you upgrade, the player can choose which would be beneficial for their current play: more turns, reduced cost, etc.)

I am not sure if there is an end game or if it is an infinite play until there is no escape from Zroth. Maybe once you have captured 100+ locations, you can add a mechanic which allows you to defeat Zroth. Perhaps this is actually possible now, but I won't know.. I am only able to take over 60+ resources then the objectives become harder to achieve.

My comment is quite long, but this is how I show my sincere admiration to this game. It is aesthetically beautiful and if you refine the game design, it would be one of my go-to cozy strategy games

Thank you for your com we appreciate it. The difficulty is indeed a problem for now, we didn't have the time to scale it right. We will probably push the game further and will fix that in the future. Same for the town which is sad actually.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback !

Was a fun game, it was visually appealing with some eye candy ahahahaaa... anyways it was a lot of fun. Only thing is and this might just be me vs the genre, it got a little unwieldy when I get spread out looking for good resources so when I need to refer to what I already have and how I should strategize it was cumbersome to traverse the whole map to take inventory. Otherwise it was real fun all in all

This game is awesome! My only note is to add a text that says "Cost" next to the node requirement! I spent so many resources on my first couple of runs thinking i was gaining them >.>;

Two (and a half) guys made this masterpiece in only one week ? I'm amazed. The design seems to be the perfect fusion between Age of Wonders and WorldBox. After a short period in order to understand the mechanics, the game becomes addictive (especially when you realize combos are a thing). Can't wait to play again :)

Great game! I loved almost everything about it, from the mechanics to the visual style. I did find it a bit short (or maybe I didn't quite understand how to play it? Either way, I won't deduct points for that).

One week to produce this absolute banger? And what about the visuals, the gameplay mechanics... it's not without a few bugs that the dev team will be quick to fix if the game continues to exist, which I hope it does!

very good game, good finish yes

Nice cozy game with awesome visuals! Once you understand how it works you can spend quite some time on this game to optimize everything :D

This game is awesome! It's a lot of fun, easy to pick up and feels super polished. I love the audio and the visuals are great!

Efficient game design, well executed aesthetic and strong feeling of optimization

wow, this is very well done
