The 18% you see is your monthly quota, but the rate_limited error is actually about how fast you're sending tokens right now (Tokens Per Minute). Basically, you haven't run out of money/credits, you've just hit a temporary speed wall. This usually happens because your chat history has gotten too long, or you're using a high-compute model. Try this for fixing: Clear the context: Open a brand new chat window (the + icon). If you've been in one long session, Copilot re-sends that entire history with every new message, which spikes your token count instantly. Check your model: If you're using o1-preview or o1-mini, switch back to standard GPT-4o. The "o1" models have much stricter rate limits and will lock you out way faster. Force a refresh: Sign out of GitHub in your IDE and sign back in. Sometimes the extension gets "stuck" in an error state and won't realize your 1-minute cooldown is actually over. Give it 60 seconds of zero activity, start a fresh thread, and it should be fine. |
