I created the background_downloader package initially for my own projects, as a simpler alternative to flutter_downloader. I decided to publish it, given the Flutter community's challenges with flutter_downloader, and then added features and functionality that I quite frankly didn't need, but that were in demand! With the deprecation of flutter_downloader the interest in background_downloader has increased, so I am trying to stay ahead of feature requests and bug reports. Thanks for your help and support!
