Hey everyone, just wanted to put together a little introduction for anyone stopping by who doesn't know my story yet.

I've been part of the Newgrounds community since 2008, which feels wild to say out loud. I started uploading music that same year under the account Death101111, though I never got scouted on that one. In 2009 I moved over to tabu112, and then around 2012 I rebranded to hikari, which is where I've been ever since.

Music has been my life for as long as I can remember. I've always loved exploring different sounds and genres, so you'll find everything from chip tunes and jungle to house, trance, cinematic pieces, and even classical compositions in my catalog. I never wanted to box myself into one style, and honestly my creativity is way too sporadic for that anyway. I've never made an album because my brain just doesn't work that way. I'll jump from a dnb track to something orchestral to a chip tune all in the same week, and trying to force cohesion would kill what I love about this.

I make music completely selfishly. It's an addiction, really. I'm not trying to build a career or appeal to anyone in particular. I make what I want to make when I want to make it, and if you happen to enjoy it too, that's an amazing bonus. But I could never do this as a job because the second it stops being pure creative freedom, it stops being fun. Over the years I also fell in love with audio engineering at the same level as composing itself. There's something satisfying about both creating the idea and then sculpting it into its final form.

One of my favorite memories from the NG audio community was being part of the transition from the old Newgrounds audio portal Skype chat to the Discord server we have now. Watching this community evolve over the years has been incredible, and I'm grateful to have been here through so many different eras of the site.
