How does the game fit the theme?
The game has an element of risk when you open a card in the round. The cards offer information so that the player can measure the risk of opening new cards. The game always offer to the player the option to avoid the risk by giving the option to pass a round or denying an offer, but the mechanic and the narrative always tries to push the player to risk it.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All coded by me and made with basic sprites of the Unity engine.

How many people worked on the game?

The clues you get from the cards makes it much better. Only feedback is the lack of sound. The theme is spot on. Good job!

Got a demon on my first selection on the last round rip

Usually I feel like a game with this much luck would be offputting, but having a core component of the game being knowing when to cut your losses when the odds are against you makes it feel very skill based. I do feel like siblings and king should maybe be considered more neutral cards since they force you to keep on playing or they're negative, but maybe having that as a 3rd category would overcomplicate things.

Oh I just realized I was betting souls.... at least I got the big cookie!

Very fun game! The character-based hints were very helpful, and although I was unlucky enough to pull the demon first many times in a row, the penalty for that wasn't too heavy. The risk was well felt in each round and I really enjoyed playing.

I really loved this game! The clues you got from the different cards were just enough to give you an idea of where the demon was but didn't take away the risk completely. So it meant I was still nervous flipping cards each round! I would love to see this concept expanded upon further

VERY fun!  I love the logical deduction puzzles!  The little touches like the itemized score screen and showing the deck list is very helpful!  I also like that it's balance where if you click on the demon quickly you don't lose as much.  I managed to get the big cookie!

I played and got the small cookie lol. Good luck in the game jam!I like how it gives tips to figure out which card to try, but sometimes you had to risk it. maybe i was lucky but i barely lost. still very nice work!

Loved it!
Constantly afraid that I was gonna pick the demon, really fits the theme.
My only nitpick is that it takes a loooong time to get to 200 and that there is no audio.
The ambience felt opressive, Im impressed you managed to achieve it with so little, congrats!

Cool concept. Some more hints and combinations would be nice. Good job!
