How does the game fit the theme?
Players must carefully dunk their biscuit into a beverage, balancing risk and reward: dunk too cautiously, and the perfect score slips away, dunk to recklessly, and the biscuit falls apart. Play

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Nice looking game with a chill background track. Only issue was too many round cookies. They pose no challenge. The only cookies that required more than simply holding the mouse button were the rectangular ones. :)

Very chill game!

It was difficult to tell what the upgrades were doing.

It felt like a new spin on the clicker game genre, nice work!

Developer(+2)

Admittedly, it was our first game and it was a bit rushed haha, we will have to find clearer ways of communicating our ideas. Thanks for your perspective on this :D

Love the design - could easily identify each beverage and biscuit type!

It was a tad annoying that the timer didn't stop whilst I was in the shop, and would have loved something to indicate how many I had done or how far through the game I was.

Hit the theme perfectly, though!

I hope you are enjoying all the submissions :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for reviewing :D. Yeah, it's clear from a few comments now the timer should have stopped while in the shop haha. A progress indicator would have been great, l think a lot of people didn't finish the game because they didn't know how long they had left. There are so many fun games with this jam, makes me want to do another :D

Did I just dunk a cookie in orange juice?
The gameplay feels smooth and intuitive. Great job!

Developer

Yes, now you need to do it in real life, haha. Thanks for the review :D

Submitted(+3)

Great work! the interactions are pretty intuitive and the cookies are v cute - and v impressive how many little UI touches like animation and cute buttons  you added

Developer(+1)

Really appreciate that :)

Submitted(+3)

Great game - got me into a flow state!  Very relaxing and fits with the theme perfectly!

Developer

Thanks a lot :D

Loved the art, the UI was implemented well, and the variety of cookies and beverages was great! :)

Developer(+1)

So nice to hear. Thank you :)

Submitted(+2)

You have a nice concept and fun, repeatable gameplay. The audio gives it a very cozy vibe. Also, gorgeous artwork!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we're happy to hear it :D

The first game that I've seen with so much biscuit variety (and even beverage variety!) Did you make me dip a chocolate biscuit in orange juice at one point though =D?

I like the artwork a lot, and I appreciate the cosy game vibes. I wasn't too sure about the timer though, and what I was racing towards - it would be nice if the only risk element is how soggy you're willing for your biscuit to get before it breaks, but maximising crumb rewards.

Great game, well done.

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing and adding to the feedback, we admittedly have much to improve upon haha :D.

Submitted(+3)

I like the concept of the game, it's fun to play :)

Thanks for the comment :D

I am a perfectionist and a stressor, so this game really tested me lol! I really appreciated the attention to detail, like the changing of the biscuit colour the more/longer you dunked it.  The music was also perfect.  Perhaps including a way to close the shop by clicking somewhere on the screen instead of clicking the shop icon again would be helpful to save time, every second gained is a second closer to perfection! Thanks for the lovely experience!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Appreciate the detail recognition. Good suggestion. Thanks for playing :P

Really loved the aesthetic of the game. Graphics and animations are really cute, and with the music it gives a calming feel to the game despite stressing about my soggy biscuits at the bottom of my drink. 🤮🤣 The game is a little bit long so it would be nice to see an overall timer, or biscuit counter. Otherwise, really well done. 🤗

Developer(+2)

Oh for sure, should have added that. Thanks for the suggestion:D

Submitted(+3)

The concept and details of this game are really amazing, and I absolutely love playing it. The graphics and animations are also very well done. It's a pity that the content is a bit lacking. If more gameplay elements and challenges could be added, it would be perfect

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

We're thinking about updating it with more stuff, but not sure if we can until after the rating period. Appreciate the feedback :D

Menu and starting the game has awesome animation and the music is nice :D
I like the shop and of course crumbs number goes up feels good!

A couple of notes:
- I had a bit of trouble figuring out what the optimal strategy was, it was hard to see how many crumbs I got every round.
- I wanted to read about the items in the shop but they rotate every 10 seconds or so? And the game doesn't pause when shop is open.

Maybe a message showing +x crumbs at the end of each timer could help and maybe pause time when shop is open.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for your feedback :). To emphasise the risk of the theme, the crumb amount and frequency are random, but they will only spawn on the release of a click. The shop resets what's avaliable per level (when the timer reaches zero) Like a lot of the game, risk was the key idea, so the game not pausing in the shop was part of that. The idea is you figure out the shop items and optimal strategy through multiple playthroughs. It was our first game so there was bound to be things wrong haha. Like others, your feedback is valuable information that will lead to better guided games in the future though, so thank you for reviewing :)

Had a good time trying to min-max my cookie perfection. I never thought a game would have me slide my scroll wheel with my whole arm. Yall actually got me craving those cookies, they look so delicious. Would glaaaadly recommend!

Developer(+1)

Haha that's hilarious to imagine. Thanks for playing :D

pretty fun game, loved the asset, looks really yummy 10/10 :D

i do wish the game pauses for the shop and when you are in the shop and you dont have any cookies to spend you cant really  get out of it :(

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

We wrestled with whether it should pause while in the shop haha. Oh you can click thr shop again to get out of the shop, should have put a close button on there too really. Thanks for the review :P
