I finished the game after figuring out that you can pick up any number of potions from the initial chest.

The game is short and quite easy when you figure out the potions, you just mash the attack button and crawl a little bit.

I don’t think camera perspective was particularly wrong, but it’s usually recommended to get it wider, then you’ll be able to see the adjacent cells and see enemies there also if properly adjusted.

I didn’t understand the stats system, was I getting better, or that was purely to open the last door?

Here’s my play-through:

I admit that even with the controls known it's still very confuseing. Nothing is indicated anywhere and nothing is "obvious". Once you know how it works you simply spam the space bar until you've killed everything and take a potion once in a while. Also it might be because of my keyboard layout but I needed to use both the WASD and the arrow keys to move properly, and in addition to that I needed to use the mouse to roll the die (for what?)
However, I'm just being bad critic here, there was still some effort put into the game, the attack animation of the monster was quite funny and something lacking in a lot of other games: being able to go back to menu, and even quit the game easily (often underestimated)

Nice game! And massive thanks for the wide range of binaries!

I really liked the feel of the dungeon, movementtook a little while to get used to but works in the end. There was something about the look of the enemies that really took me back.

Thanks for making it!

I got to the end!

I found the key-mapping quite unhinged, so it was quite the struggle to just move around. I would strongly suggest using WASD plus QE as turn as a baseline. Then have attack, doors, and looting that chest all be done with space. The camera position also made navigation problematic.

The enemy animations were funny though, and it was short enough that the input scheme didn’t cause too much problem.

I found another pc where I could play the game.

Music is nice, the dungeon looks cool and movement feels good, I like that there's no transition. Perspective almost feels good, somehow I think the character feels too close to the next tile but I can't put my finger on what exactly could be changed.

I enjoyed smashing the enemies, and I think there could be exactly 2 potions in the chest so that you need to be careful to fight a single enemy at a time when possible to be able to win. Some stat checks is always cool in an RPG and so is raising in power although I'm not certain it increased combat skill.

Thanks for sharing!

What does the dice do?  My 2nd attempt was much better after I read the game page on itch to get the controls. Not sure if it was my computer or not but I think the perspective needs to be pulled back a bit. Instant step movement is also the best way to go imo!

The title image for this game looks good! Unfortunately I am unable to run your game on my linux box :-( The .sh script in Linux.zip launches the program fine, but I get a pop-up  message "Vulcan device could not be created at the project's supported feature levels". Perhaps my machine doesn't have enough graphics capability for your game? It is just a basic office-type PC with integrated graphics.

I tried LinuxArm.zip also, but never expected that to work as it's for a different architecture. I even tried running the Windows.zip executable using WINE, but that didn't work at all (it rarely does).

Sorry about that, good luck in the jam!

Overall a decent game, and impressive for the time constraints. Loved the enemy attack animation, and sound design was overall pretty good. Thanks for sharing your submission :)!

I don't know what the die does, but I did spend five minutes rolling it until I got a 6. If I had to guess, that's probably how I beat the game.

Puh, I try not to be to negative with the entries, but I had some problems with this game. You can absolutely be proud, that you made a complete game. But an almost 500mb Unreal 5 engine game should do more. And you have to work on the controls. I am sure, next year you can make something great.

Optimization is ehh, animations are funny, why do you turn around on arrows and walk on keys? This is really confusing ngl
