How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
Each of the minigames in Dicky's funfair has its difficulty adjusted based on the random amount of luck the player has each round. The player can ameliorate the ill effects of bad luck by paying the fair's owner, Dicky, a little extra cash to influence fate.

I made some money, Dicky is happy. I'm happy for Dicky.

A fun little collection of games. I think I'd like it better if there were no actual luck-based ones. It can feel really cheap if at 90% luck you still lose, but I suppose that's the nature of the game.

Solid graphics and great sound though, feels really good.

This is a lovely mini game collection. I especially like that the mini games all serve one goal. I really enjoy the game!

Thank you fellow vim user

Good concept! I like the "wario ware" spirit

This game is super fun! I love the music, and Dicky is SO CUTE. The idea of adding the luck mechanic into a WarioWare style game is really cool, I think if this were expanded to include more minigames it would be an amazing game. One thing I noticed on my playthroughs is that it felt a bit easy, I won my first 2 and then went back to see what happens if you lose. I think having a slightly lower average luck per round would help, because I found I didn't need to buy luck very often, making it fairly easy to stockpile money.

I totally agree. I didn't manage to find the right way to balance the difficulty, so it's just completely random luck every game. A better version might have used a luck generation process that had some sort of progression to it, I think, and the betting would have happened at specific luck values, rather than at fixed rounds. Thank you for playing and for you feedback!

love the little reference to the Hungarian Dance :)

I don't think Dicky will want to see me again after I stole 1135 buckaroos from him. Great game, with awesome graphics and a lot of gameplay loop.

the carnival theme is pretty swag big fan of the balls physics and Dicky. The fast pace keeps it fresh and fun I dig the gameplay loop. A lot of people saying it reminds them of wario ware I was thinking that too but more like the minigames in wario land that are more chance based like the cash lever pull one. I got into a lot of debt and I like that

Debt is the sign of a life well lived -- they can garnish your wages but not your spirit. Stay up!

This was a lot of fun! Thanks!

Love the theme - the carnival/deal with the devil theme is great for playing with luck. The minigames were flavorful and it oozed personality. Shout out to the cool carnival music too! I had a little trouble seeing the connection between luck and some of the games (e.g. marbles) but I had a lot of fun with this one!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I think I should have communicated how luck affects the different minigames at the start of each minigame. For the marbles one, more luck means more time on the timer and a wider spread between the two guesses.

That was fun! The concept is charming and competently executed; trying to outsmart the odds was engaging. The song fits the tone perfectly. And, I must say, Mr. Nouvelle is quite cute!

Great work!

Thanks! The charm, tone, and cuteness are all due to our artist and musician.

Very fun game! Genuinely stands well on its own even outside the gamejam, with more content I could find myself getting oddly addicted to this (something akin to the warioware games)

this was a fun little microgame collection!  it reminds me of the warioware series.  I will say that the marble game was a bit too easy.  I was able to count and had 2-3 seconds left over.  But overall it was a fun short little experience

Thanks for playing! It sounds like you got really lucky with the luck meter on the marble game -- I think overall that's actually the hardest game. (The less luck you have, the shorter the timer is, and the closer the two options are for the number of marbles to guess.)
