pretty fun concept !

Polished and cohesive! Loved that you had actions to perform even after the recording step!
Good job!

This is a fun concept! A couple of the levels felt a bit frustrating due to how hard it was to predict at what specific spots my character would jump, but it was overall a very enjoyable experience.

Cool game, interesting replay mechanic. I would like a little more time to place the objects to make it more of a puzzle type game rather than a dexterity game. But may be personal preference and well executed regardless!

I liked the recording idea! The visuals were pretty neat too, and the music and sfx were well done imo. The puzzles were pretty nicely designed too. I do feel like the game can be quite difficult sometimes though, with how the recording play instantly, making me rush to place the items. And a lot of times, I just couldn't keep up... This is why I couldn't get past the level with lots of keys and two jump pads. I'm not sure if my solution is just wrong... Also, it would be really nice if the items start being draggable just a few frames before the recording ends, kinda like coyote time, but for dragging instead. I've found myself trying to drag items too early many times whilst rushing to keep up, and then just failing. This can make it feel nicer on the player imo. Finally, it would also be nice if the recording was limited to just the movement keys, cuz sometimes I accidentally press unrelated keys and the recording just starts :/ Overall, a really cool idea with cool mechanics, executed quite neatly. I can see lots of potential interesting puzzles from this!

Thank you for playing and kind words! For the many keys level, the jump pad would be placed later than expected. So you would jump off the platform, do a jump or two, then the spring would be placed within a tile or under the high keys. We really appreciate the feedback.

This made me feel like I was good at videogames. I love the feeling of "will it work? .... it works!!!" when the little guy reaches the goal after my convoluted series of steps. Good difficulty.  Nothing else has made me feel like this this entire jam. I think you should be able to pause and place items in the level because sometimes it was a scramble to get my mouse in the left* corner when the bot was already off executing instructions. other than that, great work!

I enjoyed this game so much!!! The art is cute and the levels get challenging, which make me get really into it! Favorite jam game so far, awesome work you guys!

Cool game. I enjoyed it

Really cool core mechanic! I found the puzzles to be clever but a bit difficult, overall really well done!

Nice idea and I love the artwork

Cool game, enjoyed the puzzles alot

I really liked this! I feel like there are lots of cool puzzles that can come out of this premise, really fun!

The art looks great, and I love the story you came up with. The music fits well, and you have a nice quantity of SFX for everything; polish is important, after all.

The 3rd puzzle felt more difficult than many of the proceeding ones, but after several attempts, I managed to complete it anyway.

Cool idea for a puzzle mechanic; good use of the theme. At times, I felt like a time slow-down would have been nice, but I suppose skill-based action as part of the puzzles can heighten the engagement.

The jump pad was fun, but the swapping of directions was way cooler. It made the game feel more like a programming puzzle.

I have seen a distinction placed between puzzle games like this and "problem-solving " games. Puzzle Solving games have limited solutions (usually one), while Problem Solving has limited constraints (with many possible solutions). I feel this mechanic lends itself well to the latter; personally I tend to prefer problem-solving games anyways.

Very cool submission.

Nice game, with nice pixel art, music and a bit of story

The challenge level is perfect! Loved the details "The pixel art and music are cool".

Oooh, glad I tried this. We also discussed side scrolling for ours, but we ended up with top down instead. I think the recording part was pretty short, which led me to some smaller frustrating execution problems rather than the puzzle melting my brain.

Overall though, the recording and then adding items to level is very creative and awesome.

Fun concept. I imagine creating the levels must've been a lot of trial and error with a replay mechanic like this. Very well done 😁

Glad you enjoyed. Thank you for playing!

Hello fellow looping robot! You took this in a pretty different direction than we did, very cool

I love being able to add objects to affect the bot's movement
My main nitpick is just that the timing for recording feels a lil jank?
Other than that, would appreciate having a replay button that just starts the loop over rather than throwing out the recording

Maybe adding actual play, pause, stop and record buttons?
Would love to see more!

Developer

The replay button would be a good idea.  Thanks for the feedback!

I enjoyed the recording feature and the drag-and-drop tool to enhance creativity. Good job!

I think the idea is great, and i like the artwork. But the controls was what got me out of this game, maybe make the recording reset when you press record instead of a key, i kept fiddling with mistiming the recording, not getting the jumpy pad in the right place at the right time than having to press R to reset just to click and misrecord a bunch of times.

Developer

Yeah, that’s fair. Thank you for the feedback. ^^
