WOW!!! how did you convert mp3 to mod??
Thanks! The phone calls actually use GB-Studio's built-in WAV sound effect support. Each call is just tens of SFX played in a row.
When might the full release be published? and will you have to purchase it? I think this game is a excellent remake and I'm happy that KBLM has been able to make it work on the dmg and the color Gameboy systems.
Thanks!
There's no definitive release date as of yet, since there's still quite a lot to add and tweak.
As for price, the plan is for the full game to be free. While I've thought of doing a paid physical release, this would require express permission from Scott.
That makes sense! If you can you should sell a physical cart, but you could keep the file free for those with a flash cart. With that aside, I'm very happy at how you were able to add the calls with audio, unlike other projects. Also isn't foxy supposed to come out on night 2? because he killed me on night 1 (just stating this in case you want to keep the game accurate). Also is this a multi person project? I hope you can remake FNAF 2 as well. Otherwise, you should make the project open source for people who want to.
As of now, I'm the only developer on the main version of the game, though I do have a translator working with me for the upcoming Spanish translation.
A night 1 Foxy jumpscare is rare, but possible, since his AI is activated halfway through the night. He probably got a lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it...) set of movement opportunities.
Currently, there are no plans to demake any of the sequels, but I do have some future, non-GB/non-FNaF projects in mind.
Ok! sounds good. How did you make the audio file a sample? I've been wanting to see what i can do with it. Thanks for talking!
GB Studio has built-in support for .wav files under 3.5 seconds long, so I split each phone call into a series of compressed 3.5-second audio files via Audacity, then have them play in order using an otherwise empty music track that makes script calls every 3.5 seconds.
Hope that helps!
Finished the three nights; it was incredibly fun and satisfying to look at! I think it would be really cool if the start button went to a pause menu like a classic gb game, and the down arrow opened the cameras instead
Genuine peak. I finally understand the gameplay.
this is so good man keep it up
How many more nights are in the game now? Last time I came here (about like the end of 2025), there were only 3, and I see in the 'palate' video, that a fourth one seems to have been added. Is there also a 5th and 6th?
And if there isn't already a custom night, will one ever be released?
I am VERY curious about this. I hope U reply soon, and have a great day/night!
Thanks!
So, as of now, the demo only features three nights, with the next update planned to add night 4. The beta has a functional version of all 7 nights, however, so the full release (which should hopefully be after the next update) will feature everything from the original game.
so there's this game destroying glitch whenever i open and close the camera. maybe something that might need to be fixed
What occurs exactly?
Also, are you playing on emulator, web, or console?
RQ Question and I think I know the answer, but could this run on the DMG-01 GB?
just to add with a lcd backlight kit installed
It will run on DMG-01, just not quite as well as GBC.
There are some compatibility options in the settings, though.
Thanks! I am really exited for the full version! Have a good one!
Just a quick heads up to anyone venturing into the comments section:
It seems scambots have taken residence here, claiming to post "updated versions" of the game. All updates are on this page and the GameJolt page via devlogs.
I'll remove any scam comments as soon as I'm alerted.
The only reason I come to itch.io is to check if its finally time to give you my money for the full release. The demo is amazing, I've replayed it so many times, and it never gets old. Looking forward to more updates as you get closer to the full release!
when fnaf 2 tho
fnaf in gameboy before gta 6 is craz
One night takes too long. Would you consider shortening the night length?
THIS IS THE BEST!!!
WOWWWW HOW IS IT SO COOL!!!
10/10 from me!
HELL YEAH I LOVE THIS! this really runs smoothy on my gameboy! ten out of ten!
This is insanely cool!! I love the effort put in here, I cannot wait for more updates!!
very well made and i'm not even a horror fan lol
Very well made.
what are the controls? this is really cool by the way
It depends on the emulator used. In browser, it's:
Z ------------ A
X ------------ B
Enter -------- Start
Shift --------- Select
Arrow keys -- D-pad
this is INSANE
props to you for making this
hey so i can put this on gb?
I wish the whole franchise was on Gameboy lol
How did you get the phone call audio to work? I assume some kind of compression tool?
I compressed them with Audacity and exported them as a series of 3.5-second .wav files. In-game, they are a repeating music track that runs through each section of the call.
Smart! I wouldn't have thought of using sound effects like that.
As a person who has worked on a horror game with GBStudio, those jumpscares and the trailer recreation are mind-blowing. Please tell me how you managed to do it without so much garbled graphics.
All the "FMV" sequences are made using tileswaps, with short idles between each frame.
Great job dude, It was a pleasure to share this with the public at the Midwest Gaming Classic 2025!
What are the controls for PC please?
I use Visual Boy Advance.
you can check in the settings for the game
This is so cool, I put it on my Powkiddy emulator and it works so well, this is the way to play Five Nights At Freddy's on the Gameboy, I absolutely loved it and if there is ever a FNAF 2 on Gameboy I'd definitely pay for it.
Also to anyone who hasn't, you should really try the game with jumpscares disabled. :)
ok the only problem I have with this is that the camera moves so slow, now I et you are trying to make a Gameboy style but I have a gameboy and it runs a lot smoother then this, I love the art style I think if you keep doing a little more work this could be a great game
5 out of 10, but it has the potential to be 10 out of 10
This is pretty neat, I hope you get around to polishing it eventually
good work!
i put into a game boy it works
you little weaklings i put it on an real game boy original
version 0.5 is 0.3
could i put this into a gameboy?
Yes, the version is very unstable, leading to errors and bugs, earlier versions are much more stable, but lack later features.
It´s a shame, this port looks very detailed and a lot of potential.
have been trying to figure out the lore behind it
How to play this game on retroarch?
I finally found the way by myself
Does the game have bugs in retroarch?
i put it in a ti-84 calculator rom converter and now i can play fnaf on my calculator lol
I did the same but on the Ti84pce
nice
I wanted to do the same lmao
