Apogean Tide’s Progressive Metal Guitar driven rhythmic melodies came into existence when Musician and Sound Engineer Sam Ellis decided to go all in on his own project. Sam was a founding member of the Irish prog/hardcore metal band Ilenkus. Inspired by artists such as Deftones, Meshuggah, Gojira and Tesseract. Apogean Tide’s progressive metal guitar driven rhythmic melodies came into existence when musician and sound engineer Sam Ellis decided to go all in on his own project. As a young teen Sam was a founding member of the Irish rock/metal band Fubar, playing covers before releasing 2 EP’s. Later forming Ilenkus, a progressive metal band from Galway, Ireland. During his time with Ilenkus the band released 2 albums, one EP and a handful of singles while sharing the stage with bands such as The Ocean and Rolo Tomassi. Inspired by artists such as Deftones, Meshuggah, Cloudkicker and Tesseract for their use of extended range guitars. Doing everything himself in collaboration with co producer and drummer Rory Guyett - writing, recording, mixing, mastering and all the other stuff involved with releasing music, this is a learning experience with the end goal of becoming a better producer. He is currently in the process of producing a full length record due for release in 2024
