Multiply or Release but don't touch the Reset Button

A little project I worked on after I stumbled upon an entire community of Marble Simulations on YouTube.

This one is directly inspired by this YouTube video:

Pretty good stuff! I've "played" this more than some of the proper games on itch.io, lol. The only weird thing is the physics on the "plinko" mechanic; they feel a bit floaty, but what do I know? They're probably fine. It's exciting see one of the four combatants launch a 1000+ bullet assault and hoping the others can survive it, or even mount a comeback. Nice job on maximizing the amount of fun you can get out of zero user input.

Thank you, it's really nice to hear when people enjoy what you've made!

Great work recreating that video in game format. if you were looking to improve/change the structure, youtuber Mikan has a similar project

i think the best thing to take from this video is how the 2X section expands over time

Oh I've watched so many of these, I think I'm done for now xd

The expanding zone should be easy to change, I just struck a fair balance and didn't bother to iterate. I am still having an idea about optimisations, which I may try for fun. If I do, I may also tweak some thing around. No promises though.

Thank you for kind words!

I did end up adding that in. Heads up!

A clever take on the concept of a zero-player game! While I do love the vibrant colors and pace, I could see this being fun with other palettes and game speeds. This is a good second monitor screen saver to have running.

I don't know if it's a bug, but sometimes the bullets bounce back and sometimes they don't

They each have health value. Instead of shooting thousands of projectiles, the projectiles get stronger when the numbers get very high. It's not perfect and I should have given this a little bit more polish.

Interesting project, but there's not much engagement without interaction. It would be interesting to see you take this project further (maybe adding the ability to set up your own table by deciding where the bumpers are?)

That would have to be an entirely new project. My intention here was just to make a marble machine that plays itself and that's how it was designed.

uhhh what do i do

Nothing, it plays itself
