mEDO 2026

Virtual Eating Disorder Conference - July 17, 2026

10:00 AM – 8:00 PM ET (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM PT)

Welcome to mEDO 2026, a conference uniquely designed by and for medical and psychiatric providers. While therapists and dieticians outnumber medical providers at most eating disorder conferences, mEDO 2026 focuses on the complex questions that require prescribing ability and medical scope of practice to solve. We move beyond "Eating Disorder 101" to dive deeper into the medico-psychiatric interfaces that create challenges for even the most experienced clinicians.

Why Attend?
Our curriculum is built to address the critical practice gaps in eating disorder care, focusing on co-occurring conditions that are often under-recognized or mismanaged. Participants will gain actionable insights into:
  • Complex Comorbidities: Exploring the spectrum of trauma-related disorders, OCD management, and advanced psychopathology.
  • Medical Intersections: Navigating the "do’s and don’ts" of food allergy testing, managing perimenopause, and recognizing the overlap between hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD and hEDS) and eating behaviors.
  • Specialized Populations: Developing clinical approaches for elite athletes.
  • Clinician Well-being: Strategies for mitigating vicarious trauma and burnout in ourselves and our colleagues.

Conference Details
  • Format: 100% Virtual via Zoom (No in-person option).

The Zoom links cannot be viewed on the Sched mobile app (only in web browser, including on phone), but the app otherwise has full functionality. You will receive an invitation to join Sched prior to the conference start.
  • On-Demand Access: All sessions will be recorded and available through December 31, 2026 (Note: The GYROKINESIS® session recording will only be available for one week following the event).

Intentional Planning of Break Times
None of us like sitting still for too long. We divided the day into blocks of 2-3 sessions and interspersed optional programming in novel formats to wake up the brain and body.
  • Lunch is the first break and offers an opportunity for networking if you so choose. Many Zoom breakout rooms will be open, and participants will be able to move freely between all of them - to recreate the high-top table ambience without the sore feet from standing too long.
  • Introducing the GYROKINESIS® Method as Mindful Movement serves as the second break. The Gyrokinesis method was developed by Juliu Horvath to teach people to integrate their core into limb movements and improve their proprioception. It has some similarities with Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment (OMT), Pilates, or yoga, but the way the Gyrokinesis modality teaches movement progression decreases the likelihood of hypermobile joints being overextended without adequate muscular support.

Looking forward to seeing you on July 17!
