Monty on the run - Tribute
A downloadable game
Latest Update:
Sorry this is currently unavailable ๐๐ญ Hopefully it will be available again soon ๐
This is my FREE remake and expansion of the 8bit classic "Monty on the run". The original game was released by "Gremlin Graphics" in 1985 for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and the Amstrad CPC.
This is a classic flick screen platformer (includes scrolling sections). It plays very similar to the original but due to modern resolutions and general smooth movement has been enhanced in many places. I hope you enjoy the remake it was fun and quick to make.
The early game remains very similar to the Commodore 64 version. The jetpack section on the game has been greatly expanded. The Jetpack section now scrolls and has a much larger area to explore. The biggest enhancement though is the total replacement of the original C5 section driving section (my least favourite part of the original). This version has a large scrolling map with platforming areas which need to be explored to progress. The new C5 vehicle dynamics add to the fun.
Currently the game is functionally 99% complete and an initial version will be released shortly ๐
The original music is used kindly thanks to c64audio.bandcamp.com ๐
This is not a final release and is still in development. The game should be fully functional and only needs a little more polish before I am complete. The main part I want to improve / finish is the jetpack section. Currently Monty does not change to show he is using a jetpack even though he can fly. This will be addressed very soon along with having a nice new graphic makeover which should be toggle able during play.
Controls:
Movement: XBox joypad, WASD and space also includes BETA touch screen controls.
Enter/Exit vehicle: press up whe over the middle.
