2024 Throwback. Organized by FCMB Group and UNDP, the AgroHack Challenge seeks to crowdsource innovative solutions to the challenges faced across Nigeria’s Agricultural value chain. The Challenge was won by Achesa Agric, an agri-finance startup. The startup received N2.4 million from First City Monument Bank (FCMB), as well as incubation support for 3 months, and access to workspace, market and networks to aid business growth 19 other startups also received cash grants. The second day of the Expert Group Meeting, setup by the Federal Government Ministry of Livestock Development to develop a working matrix with a focus to address challenges in Nigeria’s livestock sector—such as low productivity, disease, and weak value chains—by leveraging science, technology, and innovation.  The Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Muhktar Maiha was on hand to interact with researchers, industry, and Federal Government Parastatals to critically review the Nigeria Livestock Growth Accelerated Strategy (NL-GAS).
