Our founder, Herman Barentz, was more than an entrepreneur, he was a true collector of ideas. Over the years, he built a personal library of around 18,000 books. Today, 2,500 of these are still housed at our headquarters in the Netherlands, a lasting reflection of his curiosity and discipline. Books were not just a hobby. They were part of how he connected with people. A simple question he often asked: “What book have you been reading?” It set the tone for conversations grounded in learning, perspective, and growth. But Herman didn’t stop at reading. He actively built his own knowledge archive, carefully clipping articles, organizing insights, and preserving them within his books. Long before digital tools, he was curating information to stay ahead and make better decisions. That mindset still resonates today. At Barentz, our focus on knowledge, expertise, and continuous learning remains central to how we support our partners and deliver better solutions.

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Bruno Benitez Garcia as country manager Paraguay at Barentz, effective April 1, 2026. Bruno brings a strong combination of commercial experience, analytical capability and market knowledge, built throughout his career across the agricultural, livestock and industrial raw materials sectors. He holds a degree in veterinary medicine, an MBA in finance from INCAE Business School, and a master’s degree in data science focused on machine learning. Bruno is recognized for developing market-driven solutions and building strong technical and commercial relationships with customers and partners. In his new role, Bruno will lead Barentz’s operations in Paraguay, supporting the continued development of the business and strengthening our presence in the local market.
