Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I know for me It's been a pretty eventful month.

One of those things was doing my usual Badge-mas celebration:

And another thing that happened was reaching 200 fans!

As usual, I appreciate everyone who follows me. It let's me know that I'm not completely alone in my art journey (even if it feels like it at time).

Thank you once again, and I hope my hiatus won't upset you guys too much. I promise that when I come back full time it'll be with a bang! It's just ya boi needs a way to get that bag if ya know what I'm sayin'.

I've had my ups and downs throughout the holidays (more info in the ~Life Stuff~ section), and every year I have this re-occurring challenge of figuring-out how to heat-up my "deluxe shack" of an apartment.

This year my solution was to keep the ceiling fans running, and turn the stove on when it gets colder. All while taking more frequent showers to keep my eyes from drying-out.

It's been working-out decently so far. Still need to wear a sweater all day, but it's a good thing the electricity is included. All I'll say is when I move out, I'm gonna feel so sorry for the next tenants because they won't be nearly as lucky.

Before getting to the bigger news, it's time for my yearly tradition where I tally-up my art.

Worst rank yet, and it's only going to get worse because I'm stepping away from drawing until I have a solid plan that'll get me somewhere.

Back in 2024 the big lesson I learned was to give myself more time for my projects.

The big lesson I learned in 2025 is that I need to tone-down my ambition. I love biting-off more than I could chew, but it got to the point where I couldn't swallow fast enough before starting the next bite.

It's not that I don't want to do ambitious projects anymore, it's just that I want to do them without pressuring myself for a bit.

~~Art Stuff~~

I've got two drawing projects that I need to work on this month, and I'm hoping I can get them done by February.

The first one is to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of that art challenge I did way back in 2021.

The second one is a long overdue gift for a good friend of mine.

After both of these are done, it's back to the computer grind once more to finish some unfinished business. I'll only be briefly returning to draw in July to finish the other projects I'll be cooking-up for the holidays.

If you see doodles along the way, that means I was bored of coding for a bit.

~~Tech Stuff~~

Been a bit busy tinkering with my Linux setup. Couldn't do much last month since I was busy with the holidays and whatnot, but I still managed to add a few things.

Biggest thing I added was a battery monitor, so now I'm able to use this on a laptop.

I also added a shortcut, so I can browse files on my phone without pulling-up a whole other app. I even set up an app that lets me drag & drop things from a terminal to a browser, because I'm in love with the Linux terminal!

Like, sure, it's hard work basically creating a desktop from almost scratch, but the results are all so good because it's exactly how I want it. It's also addicting whenever I finish a certain part!

Not sure how long it will take to finish making the desktop, but part of me doesn't want it to go over a year. At least for just the functionality, giving it a fancy look can wait.

~~Life Stuff~~

The boot saga finally has a conclusion! I was able to find some boots that fit my feet properly this time. My freakish feet always makes shoe shopping such a pain because they're both really wide and long.

Later that same day I went to a Christmas parade with a few family members. Apart from the Gen AI use for the promo and certain photo ops, it was fun! Love the hand-made gingerbread village aesthetic they did, and the floats were all pretty creative. There was even free cotton candy for some reason.

A few days later my tooth chipped which means I'm slowly catching "the olds". Although, surprisingly it didn't hit a nerve, so it's not painful in the slightest. It's only a little sensitive, and very weird feeling.

This year I got my Christmas present quite early because me and my mom went to a beautiful outdoor spa!

It was absolutely wonderful especially with the lovely snowfall late at night, and was exactly what I needed after finishing all these Badge-mas gifts. Think I might make this a tradition every year.

Too bad it all came crashing down on Christmas. I saw it coming too, and I was even begging at my mom to skip Christmas just so the experience wouldn't get ruined. However, I couldn't, and the expected family drama with my alcoholic brother ensued.

I tried to endure it the best I could, but in the end I had to force myself to leave.

Even if it meant disappointing my mother, I had to put my foot down and set and example that I wasn't gonna tolerate these shenanigans with my brother anymore.

I thought Christmas in 2023 was bad enough, but this recent Christmas is the worst one I ever experienced so far. At the very least everything else outside the family cheered me up a little. Hopefully, next time will be better. I can't see it get any worse than that.

Lastly, the new year's stuff went mostly well. We usually visit our uncles and just chit-chat a bunch. There were a few blemishes, but it didn't ruin the experience.

At least the year ended-off on a decent enough note.

~~Conclusion~~

Honestly, "decent enough" is probably the best way to describe 2025 for me.

There were some sky highs and hellish lows, but all evened-out OK enough. Not sure how 2026 will turn-out by comparison. Everything I've been seeing in late 2025 has me thinking it's gonna turn-out really bad...

...then again, the worst years tend to be the ones where I make the biggest, and most memorable decisions (like moving out of my parent's house in 2020, and starting my drawing hobby in 2021). So it could be one of those years where I manage to float above the sea of fire.

It could easily go either way.

But for now, I'll be busy making a few drawings to celebrate...well, I guess myself now that I think about it.
