How will autonomous eVTOLs safely integrate into today's busy airspace? ✈️ Using our launch city of Houston as an example, our latest blog details how we create pre-defined, dedicated routes and use predictive automation algorithms to manage essential resources. From coordinating with the FAA to leveraging onboard Detect and Avoid capabilities, see how this proactive, end-to-end approach allows Wisk aircraft to navigate complex urban airspaces efficiently, paving the way for the industry to share the sky and safely scale operations. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/geRBhd_M #DetectAndAvoid #Autonomy #Airspace #Safety

At Wisk, we’re making everyday, autonomous flight a reality for everyone.
About us
Wisk is a leading Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company and developer of the first all-electric, autonomous, passenger-carrying air taxi in the U.S. In 2010, our team set out to explore the possibilities of electric, vertical takeoff and landing flight. Since then, we have developed multiple generations of aircraft and conducted more than 1750+ test flights. In 2023, Wisk became a fully-owned subsidiary of Boeing. While we operate separately, this relationship allows us to tap into Boeing’s development, testing, and certification expertise, and more. Headquartered in Mountain View, CA with locations around the world, our vision of delivering safe, everyday flight for everyone is closer than ever to becoming reality.

Meet Kacy Anderson, Head of Flight Test and Operations. Kacy and her team are responsible for transitioning Gen 6 from the developmental flight testing stage to the certification flight testing stage, where we gather data to submit to the FAA to show compliance to certification requirements. The future of flight is autonomous, and every flight test brings us one step closer to our mission. #Gen6Flight #FlightTestTeam #Gen6

Wisk is proud to support the U.S. Government’s eVTOL & AAM Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). This program is a crucial step in safely certifying and launching autonomous air taxi services in the U.S. Our autonomous Gen 6 aircraft & SkyGrid's Strata system are ready to provide the data that will inform and shape new national policies and regulatory frameworks, starting in the United States. Watch Dan Dalton, VP Commercialization and Airline Development, explain the strategic importance of the eIPP for Wisk and our vision for the future. ➡️ Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/g_YadryP #Wisk #eVTOL #AAM #AutonomousAviation

On December 16, Generation 6 completed its successful first flight at our flight test facility in Hollister, CA. The aircraft performed its initial vertical takeoff, hover, and stabilized flight maneuvers and remained in the air for more than 45 seconds. Wisk is officially the only company to have designed, built, and flown six generations of eVTOL aircraft. Watch the full, unedited flight from the perspective of our drone camera here.

The future of American aerospace leadership is officially locked in. 🚀 We are proud to endorse the publication of the U.S. Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Strategy, led by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This is a historic, unified federal framework that directly incorporates our vision: Autonomy is the foundation for safe, scalable, and accessible AAM. https://lnkd.in/g-g9UM4p As the AAM National Strategy calls for the modernization of air traffic control systems to safely integrate advanced aviation, we’re also proud to share a new Concept of Operations for Automated Flight Rules (AFR), developed with our partners at Boeing and SkyGrid.
