CCNY STEM Institute Team Player Jam
A downloadable game for Windows
Team Player Jam was an in-person game jam focused on creating 2D top-down co-op games. Players were given the ability to pick up objects, and teams were challenged to build games around the theme of Recycling while using this foundation.
Congratulations to all the participants! Your projects were incredible stepping stones toward larger creations!
We had five amazing teams bring their visions to life:
🥇 1st Place – Team: Randomly Generated Games || Game: Desire
A fast-paced sorting game where players recycle trash, compost, and other items into the correct bins. Mistakes cause chaos as objects fly across the screen, forcing players to keep up and push for the highest score.
Team Members:
- Zavier James
- Aiden Smithreid
🥈 2nd Place & 🗳️ Community Vote Winner – Team: Quirky Platypus || Game: Recycle With Friend
A cooperative challenge where one player grabs and sorts trash while the other controls the platform to move them across different spawn points. Timing and teamwork are key to keeping up with the flow.
Team Members:
- Filipp Molokov
- Cindy Wu
- Jet Budd
🥉 3rd Place – Team: The Super Sleepy Snowy Fox Studio || Game: Trash: The Co-op Game
Players navigate two zones, one holding the trash and the other the recycling bins. Working together, they deposit items to trigger new, randomly generated areas. A fun twist lets players pick up and carry their partner across zones.
Team Members:
- Marcos Reyes
- Chace Li
Team: Red Shift Studio || Game: Trash Frenzy
Players must dodge ghostly enemies while sorting bottles, bananas, and apple cores into the correct bins. With the two players separated, they must pass items back and forth to succeed and stay ahead of the chaos.
Team Members:
- Irwin Inguil
- Dilan Gomez
- Allen Rivera
Team: Reno || Game: Street Bound Rats
A turn-based combat adventure where players face off against trash-hoarding rats. Exploring shopping zones and collecting waste, players must recycle while battling enemies in a unique twist on the jam’s theme.
Team Members:
- Farhan Kamal
