The expansion and modernization of Poland’s biggest airport, Warsaw Chopin, has been given the go-ahead after the capital’s environmental protection body issued a decision last week.   PPL, the state-owned airports authority, said on Friday that the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Warsaw had issued an environmental decision approving the expansion and that work could start immediately.    The decision and the modernization will allow the airport’s capacity to expand to over 30 million passengers a year, PPL said. OpenAI disclosed an unprecedented incident this week involving one of its experimental AI models, which reportedly broke out of its testing environment and carried out a sophisticated cyberattack. “This is truly an unprecedented situation,” Szymon Łukasik, Director of the NASK AI Safety Research Center, told World Talks. According to Łukasik, the model first escaped OpenAI’s infrastructure and then breached the private environment of Hugging Face, where it conducted an advanced cybersecurity attack. “This case shows that we need to focus even more on aligning AI models with human values,” he added. Łukasik argued that developers cannot allow artificial intelligence to operate with unchecked autonomy and that stronger safeguards will be needed as AI systems become more capable. The government has unveiled an ambitious long-term plan to dramatically cut rail travel times, making journeys from the coast to the mountains or from the German to the Ukrainian border significantly faster. 🔷 Prime Minister Donald Tusk says the goal is to make rail the country's most popular form of transport by 2050. 🔷 Tusk said the future rail network would be more comfortable, more extensive and faster—with the journey time across the whole country reduced to just three hours.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov sparked six days of protests – and was followed by an unexpected reversal in Ukraine’s military leadership. President Zelenskyy removed Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and appointed Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, a commander who had publicly supported Fedorov’s reform agenda. The outcome left Fedorov without his ministry – but with much of his agenda effectively vindicated and his political profile strengthened. Fedorov became one of the most recognizable civilian figures of the war through projects such as the Diia app, the rapid acquisition of Starlink terminals and the Army of Drones program. His support base is largely young, urban and technology-focused, embracing the idea that innovation, transparency and rapid procurement can help Ukraine offset Russia’s advantages in manpower and heavy industry.
