    WordPress Origin Story

    Well… that’s a funny one. Back in the early days of WordPress (version 0.7 and so) I already tried it but back then I thought it wasn’t mature enough to meet my wishes so I decided to “build my own cms”… Well, I learned it the hard way that that is easier said than done so due to a misconfiguration at my (too) cheap webhoster back then I lost all of my data. Arrgg!! Unfortunately the outdated backup I had was near useless to restore as I had made too many changes to my platform in the meantime…
    So since that moment and a little bit of further maturation of WordPress I’ve fallen in love with WordPress and that has only increased over the years with the extra features that got introduced. Today I’m running about 11 websites and 2 webshops on WordPress and that number will only increase.
    Oh… in case you wonder if I still thrust a webhoster for backups… I now do backup my databases daily myself and backup the site files after key changes. I’ve learned my lesson 🙂
