Dead Plate is a short 2D restaurant tycoon themed rpg horror game with visual novel and point-and-click elements set in 1960s France following the story of a lively waiter named Rody trying to make as much money as possible in a week at a fancy bistro owned by a charismatic and successful chef, Vince.

💔 KNOWN BUG S 💔
- If you can't seem to interact with objects, make sure you're pressing the correct direction (press arrow keys first) before pressing [Z].
- If you can't seem to clean up a table,
try pressing [Z] from the bottom right side of the table.
- There is a very inconsistent body double glitch where sometimes two protagonist sprites show up rather than one at the very end of one of the endings. If this ocrrus, please ignore.

The game wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The controls were stiff and unresponsive, on times I had to mass click to interact with the tables, and the controls didn't help with the sheer difficulty of later days. But as someone said to me: a game is just as good as it's lore, and how is the game's lore? Pretty 5/10 i think the game length really put on toll in it, where things felt rushed. But I would say the game is a 6/10 the visuals carried it hard

this is a game that i come back to every few years just because i desperately love the world building and character art, but it's unfortunately just really unbalanced and unplayable. the controls are one thing, but the difficulty level is just near impossible later on. i've never been able to beat day 6, no matter how many times i've tried. i keep coming back in hopes that maybe they've smoothed over a few issues, but i still just can't beat it.
a lot of the game feels quite confusing, and not in a mysterious way but in a "what the fuck am i even supposed to be doing right now?" way. i love the art and id love to actually know more of the story, but i really could never recommend the firsthand gameplay experience to anyone.

The story seems quite interesting; I'm playing the Brazilian Portuguese version. (I don't know if that makes any difference with the game's controls.) For some reason, the confirmation key, Z, is simply hindering gameplay. I can't get past the first turn because, even clicking the correct key and trying every possible way, the game doesn't recognize it. Customers complain about the delay, and I fail, not because of my slowness, but because it simply doesn't work. I've tried several ways, but nothing helps. I really wanted to play and delve into the story, but with this problem, it's impossible :(
When trying to interact with objects, you need to press the arrow in the direction the object is from Rody, while pressing z.
I experienced the same problem, and thought it was really inconvenient until I realized there is a bunch of objects around to interact with in his apartment, and the arrow really helps to specify wich you're trying to get a reaction out of< it became a really likeable feature for me, hope this helps! :D

Dead Plate was my gateway game into the beautiful work from rachealdraws things and lemme tell you, this game is absolutely STUNNING in visuals and sound track. the story is so so captivating as well, i loved every second of playing though all of the endings. (also PLEASE restock the shirts, theyre SO COOL AND I NEED ONE!!)

The atmosphere is strong, and the overall design feels clean and intentional.
I keep encountering a bug, pressing Z doesn't do anything, even if I press the arrows before. Is there a way to fix it?

I loved the atmosphere and visuals of this game, but the ending was really abrupt; I hadn't read the description on the game page (only after I finished the game and got the first ending), so I didn't know it was a short game.
The gameplay was challenging enough, having played lots and lots of time-management restaurant games before, which was fun for me personally. However, I'd have preferred WASD controls instead of the arrow keys. My fingers got a bit cramped because of holding the Shift-key all the time and pressing the Spacebar.
I absolutely loved the French bistro setting and loved the graphics. Such an interesting and unique game. I'm so curious about the other endings; I need to gather more information about Rody's background story.
And I was rooting for some yaoi romance so, so badly...

In the comments Mohun1202 said that this is the updated game: itchupdate-ah1.pages.dev (copy/paste). Maybe that version works?
I don't know if you got it fixed, but the game.exe never opens, you gotta double click on the one that's just labeled as "game", I think it's always above the game.exe file.

Hello, you first need to extract the files.
If you want an easier way, you could get out of this, right click the file (it should look like a stack of books, ending with .zip) and find "Extract to \whatever this says"
There, you can click the exe and then open the game, hope this helps!
Después de tres días (noches realmente), al fin pude obtener todos los finales, la verdad sí me gustó mucho el juego, en especial por el ambiente y los personajes. Hubo veces en las que me frustré al atender a los clientes JAJA pero se solucionó, no es imposible una vez que agarras práctica. En conclusion, muy buen juego pero no pude evitar shipear a los personajes JAJAJA. Descargenlo descarguenlo!!!
i love this game, it's so stressful because there is a lot to keep track of and the customers leave if they aren't served in 30 seconds. high stakes and captivating. I would give a piece of advice dev, please add a back to the server so the player can actally tell which way they're facing, instead of guessing. Great job on the game nontheless
