WHEN IT COMES TO THE CRUNCH

I read with some amusement the Meet The Team about Ashley Crunch (RC 451). You seem to think he is a hard man. I was on remand with him for eight months in 1986 and can inform you that the rest of us called him Ginger Crunch – not just because of his red hair, but because he used to crumble like the biscuits when put under a bit of pressure. Bet you only did it behind his back. Ashley now has his head completely shaved, so the colour of his hair is unknown to us. IM

However, I do think somethi…

KING GEORGE

about the early recordings. There are two
compilation albums of that era: Vital Juices
1958 To 1974, with tracks (co)written and (co)
produced by George Clinton. The label is Statite.
Secondly, George Clinton With Parliament
& Funkadelic The Single…

HUNG UP ON A… PUB

Re RC Investigates music plaques (issue 441): here is a photo of The Zombies’ commemorative plaque on the Blacksmith’s Arms pub, St Peters Street, St Albans. My wife Gill and I (above, centre) arranged for this to be made and displayed – it took almost a year to arrange! It was unveiled on 27 April 2012. All surviving and current …
