Paul Lester began freelancing for Melody Maker in 1988. He was Features Editor there from 1993 to 1997 before launching Uncut, where he was Deputy Editor. He freelanced for Sunday Times, Q, MOJO, Daily Express and The Guardian where he wrote the New Band Of The Day online column for 10 years. He has written books on Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Lady Gaga, Wire, Gang Of Four and more. Since 2018 he has been Editor of Record Collector.
